Mike Conely is probably super pissed off now and will really take it out on Dame.

    Complete voting results here.

"The 6-7 Leonard averaged career highs of 2.31 steals and 5.9 defensive rebounds to help anchor a Spurs defense that held opponents under 100 points per game (97.0) for the 20th consecutive season. According to NBA.com/Stats, San Antonio ranked third in the NBA in defensive rating, allowing 99.6 points per 100 possessions. The Spurs gave up only 97.1 points per 100 possessions when Leonard was on the court, a defensive rating that would have led the league over the entire season. When Leonard was off the court, though, San Antonio permitted 102.2 points per 100 possessions, a league-average defensive rating."

A 5.1 PTS/100 possessions is very significant. So yes, it would appear Leonard is a deserving winner.

I thought for sure Jordan or Davis were going to win it.

The history of the DPOY is interesting. Early on, it was dominated by guards, specifically SGs winning 5 of the first DPOY awards.

Starting with David Robinson in 1991-92, the DPOY has been dominated by centers - winning 20 of the next 23 DPOY awards.

Leonard joins Ron Artest as the only SFs to ever win the DPOY award. The only PG to ever win the award is Gary Payton. The only PFs to win DPOY are Kevin Garnett and Dennis Rodman (twice).

Still, I love it when they whine! I loved when Doc whined about earning himself a ticket to play the spurs in the first round too. But most importantly, I love how the officials are sick of his whining today!

My comment was tongue in cheek.

"He kills the offensive flow at both ends of the court." was a reference to the Hack-a-Jordan strategy that was proven effective again last night as it killed the Clippers offensive flow and shut down CP3 and Blake Griffin.

It was also a tribute to a similar comment Don Nelson once made about Manute Bol. Something along the lines of: when he enters the game, it disrupts the offense at both ends of the court.

If we lose Wes, I'd throw a max at Kawhi.
