It was tense Jam but it feels short now for us with a sweet 4 or 5 days off while the other teams continue to play and beat the shit out of each other. Really feel bad montreal lost tonight....... NOT
I really think Malkin was hurting. 0 points in the series, and until tonight was a 100% non-factor. At least tonight he had 6 or 7 shots. Very good we ended this in 5. I wanted no part of game 6 (and then maybe a game 7). Montreal will go 6 or 7. TB will go 6 or 7. Caps will go 6 or 7. We go 5 and get some rest. That is real good for us. I am happy. We took care of business and did what we needed to do. Good for the team.
I would love to see the Isles win, but I just find it hard to believe. Their D is so beat up. They will have two non-6th dmen in their lineup tomorrow, Leddy and Boychuk. I think they can win game 6, that joint will be jumping, but I don't see them winning in DC if they even find a way to win tomorrow, which is a total tossup IMO.
What makes the playoffs great is now everyone will pick Ottawa to win game 6 at home, now watch the Habs end it in 6 in Ottawa.
It annoys me also. I get growth of the game, but is it really an issue if 2 markets, the 2 local markets for a particular game, don't get the national feed? The SCF I can live with on national only, but round 2 and the ECF...come on.
When it comes to playoff hockey, you just cannot root for a particular team for an opponent. MAF was exceptional in this series. Pens had a plan to trap, but in this game they let it all out. You just do know how an opponent will perform. I was very concerned that their PP while faltering.....would it affect their overall offense. It was tough to watch......heart pounding tough. Everyone on this board, if we could, would 'will' the winning goal. I know I was.
They need to play better than they did against the pens. This kind efforts wont cut it against a better opponent.
chuck, we won four 2:1 games in first round series against a team that limped into the playoffs and had half of the d-men from scranton wilkes-barre.
