As I said earlier, it looked like the puck hit him in the side of the head/temple area. If it caught him underneath the helmet (he was bent over at the time), that's bad. Possible the doctors kept him overnight to ensure there was no internal bleeding in his head, and the twittersphere turned that into he was held overnight BECAUSE of bleeding in his head. If it's the former, we may be in the clear with "just" a bad concussion. And as we all know, those can take 5 days or 5 months. It looked like Pacioretty died on the ice a few weeks ago and he's already back in action.

Yes, would clearly need to agree with that.

if i'm not mistaken, Mike Richter was hit in the side of the head, on the temple ( and he had a heavier helmet on ) and it ended his career. Let's hope for a different outcome, but this is concerning.

Sheppard plays hard and he adds an element of physical play we could use in te 2nd round. I don't think we'll miss Zucc against the Caps or Isles but well miss him against MTL or against the Blackhawks or ducks in the SCF

Great find Prod. Boomer usually has good info. Maybe he can make it back at some point in this series. At this point I would sign for him being back for any games in this series. If you said back game 5...I would sign right now.

We know the concussion deal. Have to be symptom free before you can do anything at all. Hopefully he's doing better and can get back soon.

If only Boomer could play defense and knock that SOB O8 on his
arse or better knock him out of the series......the way broods like
Gleason, Orpik, Chimera,[Ovechkin included] play gladiator on ice.
These mugs literally tried to disable several players.

If the caps want to play heavy hitting hockey they will get burned by the Rangers speed. The Rangers will take a hit to make a play. Finishing on chances will be big

the zookster imo was this teams behind the scenes MVP, his fiestyness, passing, creativity, smarts will be sorely missed... i still believe this team is special... but zook was 1 of the biggest reasons.... yes, kreider has to be more physical in this series, which i have no doubt he will be, did a grreat job in pitt series... hayes and his big frame, will he be the difference? they say he hasn't used his body yet.....

Pasta, you reminded me that Washington went after the
young Isles every chance they got and mugged their well
known players. I think Hayes will be just fine. Whether
Caps decide to continue their mugging ways (and not be
penalized) & crash Lundy or play a their staunch defensive style
and wait for a Ranger breakdown, the Rangers have schemes
    to counterattack.
