I posted this on the Giants board, but that doesn't seem to have the traffic this page does, so I'm cross-posting it. Trade Rumor brewing from Bleacher Report's Matt Miller involving the Giants: "I continue to hear from league and team sources that the Cleveland Browns want to trade up for quarterback Marcus Mariota. The sticking point will be the cost to do so. But here's another scenario being floated by a high-level team source: The New York Giants and Browns have had initial talks about the Giants trading back in Round 1." I'm not saying it will happen... just sharing what I've seen
I can't think of any one team who has landed more 1st round draft picks in the NFL, in any decade like the last one: If Mariota winds up with Cleveland He will be the 4th 1st round QB in 8 years, one every other year.....and I don't expect anything special at all out of JFF.....
These days you see more swings and misses drafting the QB position than ever. That's because teams keep taking college systems over talent.
...it's definitely an interesting option...love the history of the old OACC, but financially they'd be much better off. Plus, since they're both in the same division, twice a year they'd be both playing in the same stadium on the same day which would create even more fan interest/rivalry. ...as far as the drafts picks, my hope is that they trade down with someone who's desperate for a QB. None of the mentioned WRs warrant a #4 pick IMO. But if they could make a trade and pick up two early (1st & 2nd round?) they could draft Todd Gurley AND a pretty solid WR. Gurley, Mack, and Carr are future stars.
