He is having a great year playing for one of the hottest teams in football. Where does McNair rank All-Time among Quarterbacks? How about careerwise among today's QBs? He never won a Super Bowl. He came very close against the Rams. This could possibly be the year.Out of today's QBs, I'd rank him third, behind Favre and Peyton Manning. He won a co-MVP with Peyton Manning. I might rank him above Peyton if he wins the big game this year.
Right now for me, he's top five or six in the league. I think Football History will remember him for that one superbowl loss, and his years of injury. He HAS to win a SuperBowl to be even talked about as an all-time great.
You know, McNair has been my favorite QB of all time and I am so glad he's on the Ravens right now because I really like that team. The man was 1 yard away from winning it all so I just hope he can get it done this year. He had numerous injuries but is one of the toughest guys in the league and still played and played well if he was able too. He was unbelievable in the playoffs though when he was healthy and has made some nice comebacks in his career. He can make plays with his feet and he has a cannon for an arm and after getting beat up his entire career he has still performed well coming into a new offense. If he can win a championship this year finally, I think he is a lock for the HOF.
Apparently he cut his hand open during the second offensive series of the game and couldn't finish. This guy just has some bad luck with these things...
He's not having that great of a season and is not a top 6 QB right now. He's putting up what he usually does with statistics and is providing a good presense for a team that doesn't really need big plays from him.
