    Hank stopped playing also...

And that's why I am real curious to see what affect this has on them in game 2. Need to let it go. No guarantee we win in OT anyway.

Lundqvist had little shot at that Al. It's the defense that still has no awareness covering in front.

10:20PM: Steve Valiquette said that the Rangers seemed a little distracted by there not being a call.

10:17PM: Pierre McGuire said that Alain Vigneault and the Rangers bench were upset that Nicklas Backstrom wasn’t called for a hit from behind on Dan Boyle on the play immediately preceding the game winning goal.

Vigneault was seen yelling after the buzzer sounded.

Crazy play, we can all say what we would've done but it is what it is. 1 game. How they respond on Saturday is their only focus (at least it should be). I will say that the rangers had a ton of chances tonight so if they find a way to finish they will be going into DC 1-1 which we all pretty much assumed anyway. We all were stunned with the end of the game but no sense dwelling on it. Boyle stays in (even though I said to bench him once Klein was was healthy during the last series), Hunwick will only play if someone gets hurt.

I don't think it had anything to do with that 71. I thought the D played well all night. Simply put they stopped playing and were caught flat footed. Not much deeper than that.

They wouldn't struggle to score if they'd shoot the puck, and go to the net. They weren't really doing that until the last 20 minutes. Yeah they out shot the Caps, but how many of those shots came with Holtby being screened? How many times did they shoot on Holtby where he had nobody in front of him, and made easy saves? And if anybody needs to get there ass in front of the net, it's Nash.

Simple as that grey...I agree. No sense going crazy. Win game 2 and we are where we pretty much always were going to be....tied 1-1. All tonight did was put a lot of pressure on us to must win game 2.

Getting really tired of the Rick Nash routine at this point.

One thing I'll say about Nash is I am sick and tired of excuses. He plays well on D, he back-checks, he hustles on the PK...AWESOME...we pay him to score goals. That's the bottom line. 1 goal so far is not near good enough. It angers me when I hear people say Nash is playing well, why is everyone on him...SCORE SOME F'ING PLAYOFF GOALS.

Definitely should have been a penalty, but you can't stop skating. Hopefully this will get them going for game 2 ...

I think they will win game 2. It is going to be 7 games series, clearly.
BTW...how many big goals does this dude Ward always score in the playoffs?

That's really the bottom line. It should've been a penalty but you can't stand there like fools doing nothing while OV skates away with the puck.

It wouldn't be Rangers playoff time without one of those types of losses.

Pretty much locks in a long series now if we are going to win. Longshot we win in less than 7 now.

I guess better to get a hideous loss like that out of the way in game one.
