Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Freddy Gray What do they have in common? They chose to be criminals.
How's that Rick? Martin assaulted an armed man (while stoned out of his mind), Brown assaulted an armed policeman (also stoned out of his mind), Garner died of a heart attack while resisting arrest (toxicology not released), and Gray may have self inflected his injury while in custody based on latest report from liberal media. Unless you mean 3 of the 4 should have been cooperative with the authorities.
Don't misunderstand me Tom, I'm not casting my votes for sainthood for any of them BUT......if the cop wanna-be Zimmerman would have listened to instructions to STAND DOWN, Martin would still be alive. (most likely in jail) but alive. Gardner was killed by an illegal choke hold. At at least attributed to his death. The situation with Grey has not been proven yet. So yeah IMO 3 of these deaths COULD have been prevented.. JMO.
There was no illegal choke hold Rick. That's the coroners finding. He died of a heart attack while resisting arrest. Zimmerman had every right to be in his own neighborhood. Martin made a series of bad choices. Investigators agreed.
I agree Garner was resisting arrest & his own health issues didn't help the matter & it was DEFINITE choke hold. Pictures don't lie. I'm only saying that his death was preventable from BOTH sides. And Zimmerman, of course he had a right to be in his own neighborhood but he had no right to follow Martin who at the time was doing NOTHING wrong. Especially after the police SPECIFICALLY ordered Zimmerman to stand down & to not pursue. Because I've got news for you, if someone is following me eventually I'm going to stop and approach and strongly ask, "What the fuck is your problem?" And as I said, the jury is still out on Gray.
I can easily debate/disagree and point out how both (from your above post), maybe all four's deaths could've been avoided with different "methods" which were/are not unreasonable. Imo
Nobody who did not see what happened can accurately judge whether they're innocent. It's really hard to actually get into the details because the media twists everything...
Michael Brown deserved what he got, he was combative & he was trying to take the policeman's gun away. That case IMO was unavoidable.
^^^This. ...and I can't imagine how much worse some of these neighborhoods would be without any police at all.
When I first saw the thread title, I thought you were referring to chief-golfs-alot, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton, & the liberal media being the 4th horseman...
Sorry Rick....Martin chose confrontation with an armed man. You need more than ego in a gun fight. I didn't need to be there because a (grand)jury of his peers did not indict and the feds found no civil rights issues. No one can defend what brown did. Garner died of a heart attack, period. No officer was indicted for the phantom choked hold. And yes the full story is out on Gray, but its not the narrative the protesters are framing....again. Hey, you want to think these deaths were avoidable, go right ahead. All 4 were in control of their own lives until they chose crime.
Tom seriously when Martin stopped to confront that fat ass wanna be cop Zimmerman for following him he had no idea that Zimmerman was armed. So again the MAIN issue here is IF Zimmerman listened to the instructions of the police "DO NOT PURSUE" Martin is still alive. Brown yes, deserved what he got Garner, both sides are guilty here, if he complies with police & doesn't resist arrest the choke hold never happens. And finally with Gray, in today's newspaper there are two accounts, one of which says that he broke his neck when his head hit a bolt in the van (possibly self inflicted) while other say & film shows that Gray's legs were dragging from a back injury prior to being put into the van. So this one is going to be in debate for some time. And of course the protesters are going to & have twisted all these stories to justify the actions of all four of these men.
