I'm not sure I like that line "Aldridge is said to feel somewhat underappreciated in Rip City." Is this referring to the fans underappreciating him because if so I call bullshit. I mean I know Sinobas underappreciates him but that is besides the point. He's the anomaly and if he leaves Portland I can't think of any other reason other than that line that is plain bullshit. At first I felt bad for him in the first two playoff games getting little to no help, but then he disappeared in the games after and whether that was because he checked out early or he just wasn't doing good at all or because Memphis' D is that good no one knows. Does he owe it to us to stay in town? Maybe not, but it'll be bullshit if he leaves just because of that one line.
He was playing so hard (and well) defending Zach that his offense suffered. As for the "unappreciated" line, that's complete bullshit speculation by an ill-informed rabble-rouser who got trolled by Jason Quick.
LOL Wow. No evidence at all or even a reason to imply it, but hey, if it were true it wouldn't be the first time!
May as well get used to this. It's going to be constant rumors and speculation until LA signs his new contract this summer. It seems kind of pointless to start a new thread every time some reporter feels the need to bloviate, but then, I know some of the "quality" posters on this board live for this shit.
Going to be a long time until free agency. We will probably see every big name reporter or beat writer write something about LA leaving
So now the rumor is that LMA doesn't want to play with Lillard? This seems to be a recurring theme with Aldridge, who got his panties in a twist when Roy broke out. If you remember back, apparently there was a bit of discord between them, until they spent some time together (somewhere can't remember and learnt to get along). IF it's true. Bottom line, I'm over the Blazers from the 00's period, and with the emergence of Meyers and Cj, to add to Lillard, I'd like to see the team move forward with the younger players, to start a fresh era. That means detaching from LMA and Batum. Leave the curse from the 00's behind and re-tool with the youngsters/ fresh blood. Re-tool to a completely Olshey built team. The only player worth keeping from that snake-bitten period is Matthews - and that's if he comes back serviceable. A coaching change would probably be beneficial as well.
So the more writers who repeat Quick's original fiction the more real the rumor? Gotta love "journalism" in the Internet age. Or not.
