That is definitely a valid concern. I guess the question is whether this is more likely than Nic to continue to put team France over the Trail Blazers. After years of seeing the same thing, I am ready for change.

I understand both concerns. But toxic chemistry issues can hurt an entire locker room and on the court.... Batums play can hurt the team on the court, but probably not off of it (that we can see).

I think the increase of minutes where CJ and Dame play together also helps with that. CJ is a better ball handler than Wes and decreases the need for Nic to run the offense. If Wes comes back he can get minutes at SF as well.

I love Nic on this team, but I can't deny he is our best trade bait. I think a DeRosan trade would be interesting as well. He plays well in the paint and regardless what type of offense Terry wants to run........we could use that with LMA and Leonard stretching the floor.

A tiny upgrade over RoLo (and possibly not even that) leaving a giant hole at SF?

As in "may you live in interesting times"?

Seriously? DeRozan? The most "empty stats" guy since Shareef Abdur-Rahim?

I like DeRozan a lot but there is one big glaring weakness in his game that would make it very hard for him to work on our team. He cannot shoot, the way the NBA is going if your a gaurd and you cant shoot I dont want you on the Blazers playing extended minutes

He'd probably want 20 assists from him.

    He's not a PG? Bah! 15 assists!

I don't know about that. GS drafted Curry, Thompson, Barnes, and Green. They also traded away Stephen Jackson, who could contribute, for a pick that was then used in the deal for Igoudala.

Ha! This board is damn near moronic, calling for Batums head when he out rebounded Damian, Shot the three ball better than twice the success rate and had more assists than Damian,
played bettter defense too. Batum did indeed assist Meyers on some scores. But they cut the darling all the slack in the world while they come down hard on Batum?? WTF is up with this?

And if Nic isn't running the offense he could focus more on his offense and rebounding. And defense.

Yes well this is the sort of responses give to questioning why such crappy performances are ignored. Oh yeah, Batum played poorly, he thinks so, and so do I.

Why are they empty? His team won and he was a big part. Good team, good assists, good rebounds, good free throw shooter. Great on the fast break. The only thing he is bad at is 3 pt shooting. And yes I realize that it is a problem with Terry's style. But I still say we need someone who takes his man into the paint, and is unstoppable. And he is pretty close to that.

He is not perfect but a line up of Dame, Wes/CJ, DeRosan, LMA, and Rolo/Leonared would be harder to stop. and I bet it is doable.

And then his team flamed out SPECTACULARLY, and he was a big part. He's an inefficient volume shooter. He's possibly the anti-Wes.

Your like a fast food restaurant. Instant and over with and no recollection of the previous meal.
Dame was burnt out by the end of the season and tried too hard to carry the team. With that said, for the first two and a half years, he played all star calibre ball. When has Nic and his $12 mill even been a conversation of possibly making it?
Nic got hot for a couple games in the playoffs but stunk up the season.

How on earth can you not see that? Oh.. probably how you only saw half of a comment I made in another thread and decided to quote only a portion of it and take it completely out of context. You are quickly teaching me that you are just not able to have a rational discussion. You seem to read only what you read, and see what you see. Problem is you already proved you don't read it all, so how can you see it all?

I respect ALL Blazer fans, but some are simply not realistic.

    Some are borderline troll like...

Nic's shooting numbers were pretty awful last season and even in the playoffs when he avgd 14 PPP he shot a lousy 34% in overall FG%

I like Nic and appreciate the different things he brings to the team. Mostly his ability to guard multiple positions.
And I like that he is an above average play maker for a SF. But I do not he is good enough of a play maker to run an offense.
I would like to see that cut back. I am all for him coming back if he improves. We all know he had a bad year and next summer we have to deal with his agent again. Not a pleasant thought.

And if you think DeRosan and the Toronto flamed out Spectacularly, then what does that say about Nic and the Blazers. Not sure why Demar's stats are empty and Nics are not. I don't necessarily want to trade Nic but we have to upgrade somewhere and a better center is too tough to get. Maybe DeRosan is not the guy but we need one of our wings to attack the basket IMO.
