The Red Sox fan who caught A-Roids 660 HR refused to give it back saying "I've always hated A-Rod & I'll never give him this ball". The officials then asked the fan who his favorite Red Sox player is & he said David Ortiz. So they offered him a face to face with Ortiz & some memorabilia to which the fan said, "NO!, I plan on blowing this ball up on you-tube".

Pretty stupid if you ask me considering he could probably get a nice piece of change for it. But hey, that's a Red Sox fan for you.

I was stationed in Massachusetts twice on active duty. My comment would be typical dumbass pilgrim.

I have a better idea for that Redsox fan.
He should shove it up his a$$ as a reminder THAT was a HR Arod hit to beat his Redsox on May 1, 2015.

If the guy has a family his wife has grounds to do a Loraine Bobbit on him.

I still don't see him getting the kind of money he would have been offered, even though IMO the ball is worthless.

There's no way it's worthless. There's people out there who collect and have nothing better to do with their money. I bet the guy could offer it up today and get a quick 10K for it without trying too hard.

You need a channel with lots of views over a period of time. YouTube then can put ads on you material and that's how you start making money.

IMO its worthless, but yeah I can see someone coming up with 10K for it which is my point, this guy would be an asshole to just blow it up but then again we are talking about a Red sox fan here. The jerk should auction it off & make a few dollars.

BTW: I read in today's paper that Ortiz was pissed for someone in the Yankees org volunteering his memorabilia without asking his permission first. (see OP).

Question, how is that ball authenticated now? I mean unless the balls were marked he could change it off for any ball.

Good question but I would imagine that's the first thing they did when they started negotiations.

I recall when McGwire was approaching HR #62 that they would mark the baseball. Same for when Bonds was going after #756
