Mirotic is 8th on the Bulls in 3 point percentage. Why is that?

He said "playoffs is the goal." Period.

Not "championship is the goal." I can't find a single quote.

For SST's benefit (interview with The Chairman):

    http://bullsbythehorns.com/jerry-reinsdorf-answers-questions/

The Bulls did not want Pau Gasol:“Gasol, we didn’t move slowly, we said, ‘No.’ We were prepared to give [Memphis] players. What they wanted to do was to basically dump stuff on us and we’d be immobilized; we wouldn’t have been able to improve our team. Gasol made sense for the Lakers because he is their third-best player, probably. He would have been, at that time, our best player. It would have been a wrong role for him. John and Gar decided they didn’t want Gasol under those circumstances, where he would have been the last piece and we would have been immobilized because of the [salary] cap.”

This is the team that managed to trade Jalen Rose, and now has Gasol 6 years later. Immobilized? That's a laugher.

    He goes on:

He’s not a miserly old cheapskate…seriously: “I don’t mind [paying] the tax if it’s an intelligent expenditure. I don’t care what the tax would be; if we had a guy who was going to put us over the top and put us in the Finals, I’d pay the tax. I wouldn’t hesitate.”

The trick is to not have that "guy who is going to put us over the top." We've dumped guys for cap space all along.

I was referring to Reinsdorf's comments about four championships.

Gasol was the Lakers third best player? Too funny.

I'm hoping some fan of profit can explain how not trading for one of the best two or three big men in the game makes any sense. Settling for less. He's an all star at 34. Imagine how good he was in 2009. LA did give up 2 firsts and Kwame Brown and filler; Pau's brother greatly exceeded everyone's expectations. Memphis didn't foist any bad players on LA.

The Chairman did pay the LT once. He said he'd do for a guy who would put us over the top. That guy turned out to be Hinrich (instead of Mayo).

Jimmy is getting paid. Enough to put us in the LT. Who do you predict will be gone to dump salary to get under?

Hinrich made $2.7mil this season and will make $2.8mil next season. Mayo's at $8mil this season and next. Not apples-to-apples.

Hinrich signed his previous contract for $4M. Brought us right up to the apron. "I'll pay the LT for the guy who'll put us over the top."

Mayo signed his previous contract for $4M at the same time Kirk signed his.

    2 years $8M:
