This is likely very true. The guy you love unconditionally was indeed a big reason for being done in April. While our non all star had more assist, rebounds and shot the three ball much better (all though not good) than the guy shooting it .161. .161 would not be too bad, on say 6 attempts. It's stupid on 31. PS, I did read your personal assessment of me. I chose not to comment intentionally.
Batum had his worst shooting season of his career by far and he still barely shot worse then DeRozen from 2 and shot quiet a bit better from 3. DeRozen is super athletic and a good defender but he is such a bad 3p shooter that he would almost be a liability the way the Blazers like to space things out. He also has a very bad assist to turnover ratio.
Right. and again quoted only a portion of my sentence and never answered my questions. MY assessment of you continues to be substantiated.
What bothers me is Batum could be the top 3 SF in the league behind Durant and LBJ if he was assertive. Even if he was playing at the level he played last season, he would be a top 5 SF. I think this is what pisses me off the most. I understand he was battling injuries, but the secondary issue is how he plays over-seas too much. Rest, get well and dominate the NBA and we could have a Larry O'Brien trophy
That's been his curse for the entire time he's been with us. You see the flashes of brilliance....then followed up by stinkers. Ugh. After what 7 years....is it time to cut ties? I think so, in my opinion. That is if we can get good return value.
I would love to work a 3-way trade between Detroit, Portland and Atlanta. Portland sends Batum to Detroit, Atlanta sends Horford to Portland and Detroit sends Monroe (sign and trade) to Atlanta. Although, we could just deal with Detroit straight up and send them Batum for a resigned Monroe.
They don't have an inside post player, which is why they are having trouble in the playoffs. Yes, Horford is arguably a better player, but they have nothing they can use on the half court offense. When the game requires it, they don't play well IMO.
CSNW's Jabari Whathaveyou says that Neil could deal him and will be very active before the draft. Batum for Willy Cauley-Stein? Yes please.
If you value a wing lock down defender, Stanley is long enough with a 6' 11 1/2" wing span. If we trade Batum then we better get a wing back. This kid can guard 3 positions. Think Artest without the head aches.
Would love that, but we don't have the assets to get that high. Only a S&T with LMA would get that done (but the draft happens before LMA can negotiate a contract.... so it's very unlikely).
im pretty sure the sixers came out and said they are going to draft him if hes there at their pick...so we would have to jump the sixers which would be pretty difficult
Batum could be much better than he is but he would not be be better than Leonard or George, probably not Melo either. An aggressive Batum is probably somewhere around the level of Gay, Parsons and Hayward.
