Most underwhelming MVP in a long time. He had a great year, just kind of a Derrick Rose type MVP.

Rose was ridiculously good that year; I think people look back on it through the lens of the current shell of a player he is now.

Steph had a great year and does a lot besides scoring to help the team. Far more deserving than Iverson or Karl Malones last one. Kobe never had a season with a team perform this good and always had a superior teammate the years they contended.

And half of Aldridge's 6 total points came via home cooking - that 4th place vote by Jabari Young.

Not that I'm complaining. After over a decade of Canzano and Quick hating on the local team, it's actually nice to see someone in the local media actually supporting our guys.

Do Quick or Canzano have a ballot?

It looks like Joe Freeman, Mike Rice and Jabari Young are the only members of the local media that were allowed to vote for MVP. Here's how they voted:

    Joe Freeman:
    Stephen Curry
    James Harden
    LeBron James
    Chris Paul
    Anthony Davis

    Mike Rice:
    James Harden
    Stephen Curry
    Russell Westbrook
    LeBron James
    Chris Paul

    Jabari Young:
    Stephen Curry
    James Harden
    Russell Westbrook
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    LeBron James

The other three (5th place) votes for LaMarcus Aldridge came from:

    Gary Washburn - Boston Globe
    Marc Spears - Yahoo!Sports
Scott Hastings - Altitude Sports & Entertainment

So, where's Beno Udrih? Wasn't he supposed to get some votes?

If not for that mini-slump at the end of the season, GS ties the second best record in NBA history. They've got a lot of talent around Curry, but he's clearly the catalyst.

I was thinking the same thing. He couldn't even go a 5th place vote for Aldridge? The guy watched every game the man has played in a Blazer uniform?

Im shocked Rice didn't have Aldridge first with Lillard as a close second.

    He's making progress.
