Yeah I'm sure it had nothing to do with team ownership not going after pitching during the off season.

    So what's your real point?
Do you expect teams to make wholesale player changes and/or fire their GM on May 7?
I'll say this much, it's not impossible.

So, why DO we have coaches?
Whenever the team, or those who have to be COACHED are doing poorly, we just need to fire the GM.
    Is that it? Okay.

No way to know the real conversations leading to the Axe. Could be irreconcilable differences between mgr and coach, coach could be a dumbass, etc. Or could be scapegoating.

    Conspiracy theories? How about:
The Manager could be a kiss-ass to upper management and is trying to convince them HE is doing well and their last WS wasn't a fluke with Papi carrying the team with huge big hits after big hits and they aren't headed to their 2nd straight last place finish with him as the MGR? whew!

Losing 5 of six to the Yankees and yeeech Rays probably did not help matters. Hell Farrell was a former pitching coach, should have fired him for improper supervision of his coach. The way some of these "super" teams are under achieving we'll see more heads in the chopping blocks before too long.

...I could try to explain it to you but I doubt you'd understand...this is the very same coach that was in place when the Sox won the WS 2 years ago.

...did he suddenly lose his mojo?...or more likely does it have more to do with the difference in the 2 different staffs?...Cherington was the one who decided to let his 2 best pitchers walk during the off season and replace them with the same staff you were scoffing at awhile back...any of this sinking in yet, dumbass?

Farrell was a pitching coach? Oh yeah...I seem to remember that......but his and Cherrington's pitching staff was "good enough" to be 12-1 for the Redsox to win the WS before the season began.....so what went wrong? Lmao

Maybe it was a communication problem between the MGR, Pitching COACH and Pitchers.

I'm not sure and I don't give too much sh!t about it....and while it's still early in the season, I expected the Yanks to win more games than them from the GET-GO.

I see I have to be careful with my sarcastic comments:
Farrell was a pitching coach? Oh yeah...I seem to remember that..
    (post 9)

You are an expert cheap shot artist.

By the way, how's your boy Billy Beane' s team doing?
It's early....and they still feel "good". Lmao.

    Roll that around yer mouth.

    ...uhhh, relevance?

...never mind...I think you have clearly illustrated once again that you are a grotesquely disturbed individual...Freud would have a field day with you.

...actually, now that I think of it, you'd probably cause Freud himself to seek psychoanalysis.

...you were soundly thrashed on the poll comparing Cashman to Dombrowski...would you like another poll comparing Beane to Cashman?

Listen and read carefully.....sometimes "this again" is what is needed..for those who FIRST choose to employ cheap shots.

Your buddy has no answer for my said reply because he is obsessed with his personal little biased anti-Cashman agenda.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Go Yanks.....put the Birds in a DEEPER hole.

Gee whiz....I'm very afraid of those "other" A.L East teams.

Some of you guys should be ashamed of yourselves after writing the Yankees off prior to the season.

    SHAME ON YOU....not me.
