I like how he asks all these questions about why would the Clippers do it??? And then never gives an answer why.
Blake Griffin would literally lose a 100 Million or more in endorsements if he left the Clippers and came to Portland.
So is every player. If someone like Reddick gets traded to POR it doesn't make much of a difference. Blake has a no-trade clause. He would never come here as his situation there (team-wise) is just as good and his situation there money-wise can't be touched by us.
Maybe the Clippers would do a deal of Jordan for Aldridge, but I am not sure that Griffin and Aldridge would play very well together. It would kind of be like when the Blazers had Sheed and Brian Grant, forcing Sheed to be more of a perimeter player. edit: I wouldn't do this if I were the Blazers.
Some more than others though. Blake's game is so dependent on his athleticism. Reminds me of Larry Johnson. I remember Johnson was extremely marketable until he lost his athleticism.
Well all that says is Blake is a better power forward-which is debatable but this is a what have you done for me recently league and since Griffin is tearing it up in the playoffs so every talking head is going to say Griffin is better. Blake has little say, yes he can throw a fit and be upset but if CP3 would rather play with LA then this rumor actually has some weight, if he doesn't then it has no weight. Griffin could immediately request a trade once he got here, but thats all the power he really has.
While I agree with the first part, he would still make more money in LA hurt then he would make here hurt. He could probably have some role on a soap opera if he was hurt badly. I understand it is a lame reason, (who needs that much money) but it is also a valid one. He has many, many reasons not to come here.
I didn't think he would as don't you have to be with a team 10 years for that to be on the table? Plus some other stipulations. With that said, I love LMA as much or more as the next guy but there is no way I see Chris Paul telling management he would rather have Aldridge than Blake.
He doesn't have a No-trade clause. You can't get a No-Trade clause in your second contract and you just misread the article
I don't know if CP3 would rather say he wants to play with LMA or Blake but there has been a LOT of media talk over the last 4 years about how CP3 doesn't like how Blake plays and there games don't perfectly mesh and its lead to disputes.
