The extra day always benefits the team who has tied the 3-1 series. Even more so given the Caps brutal history of blowing series leads and Ovechkin never seeing the ECF
wednesday hanks goes 10-0 in home elimination games and rangers first team in nhl history to come from 3-1 deficits in back to back years
To me the biggest call of the series, BY FAR, was the disallowed goal on Ward's interference in game 5. I think it was a coin flip call, and it went in our favor. So stop bitching...LOL.
Give the Rangers credit in regards to Ovechkin. They're not giving him the room he was getting in the first couple of game. Now he's getting frustrated and pressing.
I do agree Dis. And I think we'll win game 7, but I won't love 3 days of everyone saying Caps done, Caps choked again, Rangers moving on. I won't like that as the Caps listen for 3 days. Plus the Caps played their best game tonight, and were great late...32-0 shot attempts in the last 15 minutes tonight. Some of that could carry over.
yup, he was CLEARLY pushed into Hank by a Ranger (McD i think). I said it then and will say it now, that was the biggest call of the series.
Disagree Chuck. The biggest call was the non pen w 1 sec left G1. Ward was a pen on Hank. The problem is it doesn't seem like we ever get that call. He mad contact w Lundqvist twice and his stick wasn't even on ice. It was a penalty no question. But agree it was a huge call
Dis, in Gm 5 it was an elimination game for us. If the refs don't blow that call the Caps go up 1-0 and we're basically fucked. HUGE break that went our way.
Here is why I disagree with you Dis. First like 31 said elmination game, stakes WAY higher in game 5. 2nd I think the play in game 1 was also a coin flip call...AND most importantly we stopped playing after the no call, that is 100% on us. Both big calls though of course. Excited...and nervous for game 7. After seeing Hank, getting that extra day is good for us I think.
Right calls are not breaks. Yes he was pushed but he made contact w him multiple times including up high on his shoulder. I'm not saying a goal there isn't a killer I'm saying it was the right call and not even that close. Phantom penalties are breaks that was just the right call
Caps will come out flying, with nothing to lose. The Rangers have to weather the storm, score first and tally a 2nd. And if they learned anything from tonight's game, continue to play hard. Do not let the Caps back in ...
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-p...ls-goal-vs--rangers--good-call-012438901.html look at that link. Ward only makes contact with Henrik after being pushed.
I think both were coin flip calls that could have gone either way. Guess that is where we disagree. All good. Onto game 7....
As much as a coin flip of the elbow/boarding non call that ended game 1..ets try to remember that shit too
It's possible from Washington but I don't buy it because this was the game where you could've said the same thing . After how they lost Game 5 you would think Washington would've come out flying in this one.
