Police: George Zimmerman Named In Fla. Road Rage Incident

The man acquitted in the shooting death of unarmed Miami Gardens teen Trayvon Martin may be in trouble with the law again.

Police say a driver has reported that George Zimmerman threatened to kill him after a confrontation on the road.

Police are investigating two reports involving the driver and 30-year-old Zimmerman, who was acquitted in 2013 of a second-degree murder charge for shooting unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.

Police say that on Tuesday, the man called police after a truck pulled up next to him and the driver yelled, “Why are you pointing a finger at me?”

Police spokeswoman Bianca Gillett says the man recognized the truck driver as Zimmerman. The man says Zimmerman asked, “Do you know who I am?” and threatened to kill him.

Two days later, the man says he saw Zimmerman in his truck outside his work. He called police but declined to press charges. His name hasn't been released.
Lake Mary police had two previous encounters with Zimmerman last year, once when his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, told police he had threatened her and her father. She later declined to press charges.

In a second incident, Zimmerman was arrested and accused of domestic violence by a girlfriend, who later changed her story and dropped charges.

Isn't this the 3rd time he's been involved with some violent event and ended up on the news? Granted it's him so if he had an angry bowel movement we would hear about it.

It's hard to tell who is egging him on or not. However I don't want to experience this douchebag first hand to find out.....

Well the story is unclear. It sounds like Zimmerman pulled out his gun first and then got shot, but I could be wrong. We need more info.

 

There needs to be a serious discussion in this country about race. This Mexican guy gets in a lot of trouble. I doubt it is because he is Mexican but we need to find out for sure.

He seems like a pretty even keeled fellow. Not sure what all the hubbub is about, he was probably just driving defensively.

 

Sounds like this nutjob has been stalking him for a long time, made a previous bogus police report that he immediately backed away from, finally cracked and shot at him in traffic through Zimmerman's passenger side window which was rolled up at the time. Then he's so amped up he brags to the first stranger he sees "I SHOT ZIMMERMAN!"

Pretty clear case of a premeditated murder attempt by a mentally deranged individual. Lock him up and throw away the key.

Zimmerman attorney Don West told CNN that a driver behind Zimmerman began flashing his lights and honking his horn at him.
"The man pulled up next to George yelling obscenities at him," West said.

Zimmerman recognized Apperson as someone he had a problem with several months ago.
According to West, Zimmerman raised his window and then the man shot at him.
The bullet went through Zimmerman's side window and almost hit him in the head, West said. Zimmerman was hit by glass from the window, he said.

'I shot George Zimmerman, call 911'
An employee at a nearby business, Kenneth Cornell, said he was exiting his car after lunch when a man drove up and started yelling about the shooting.
The man, who identified himself as Apperson, shouted to Cornell: "I shot George Zimmerman, call 911. I don't have a phone."

Apperson's attorney, Mark NeJame, said his client acted in self defense.
"What happened today, he was legally justified to do," NeJame said Monday.

But West, Zimmerman's lawyer, denied that his client waved a gun.
"George absolutely denies pointing a gun, displaying a gun -- no aggressive movement toward him at all," West said.
