Do you realize all players play through injuries of one type or another throughout the entire season? Stop looking for excuses.

Ugh. But it's Ellsbury, he always gets minor scuffs.

I realize he was hurt last year, my point is he is coming off a poor season, had as bad an April as there was in the league THIS year, and is 38 years old. His recent streak is encouraging, but as far as Im concerned his rope was used up and needs to earn himself some future rope. If he can ride this consistency out another few weeks he can withstand another slump as hitters do slump. However if this last another few games immediately followed up by a 3-21 stretch I'm looking for the exit with him. He has 2 HRs and we are almost 1/4 through the season. His OPS is in the .600s and we're almost 1/4 through the season. And offense is his strength. We have kids in A ball who could play a much better RF and we have Chris Young on this team who would basically give us 3 CFs in terms of D in the OF should we make the switch.

I think the main reason Beltan's OPS and other numbers are so low is precisely because of the horrible start he got...he's actually been hitting much better lately.

    ...in fact, he's riding a 10 game hit streak. (12 for 36)

Last 10 games alone he's hitting 361. I'm rooting for him.

I knew the contract would be bad in the long run & this was a risk in the short run... I hated the years/price from day 1...

I just hope he's not out to long.
