You won't need a crane with 2 elephants on board. You won't need trunks either. (baggage, bathing, this could go either way.) Anyway, the site says you're going round the Cape to Scotland. But in another place, it talks about the Indian Ocean. How long will you be gone while I take over the OT board?
It is nearly done now, a crew is coming 6/12 to help me launch in Port Orford. Good question on why are you making your own boat? Well right up front, we can scratch the saving money. The real intent was to design a boat correcting a rather long list of things found wanting or just wrong with boats. The list was compiled over a 40 year period of sea going experience. The result is a boat you just can't buy today.
Final fairing mix on final sanding and primer paint tomorrow. The beaver tail aft section View straight down the leading edge forward to aft.
Well it is finally complete. Keel assembly ready to join with hull, then both will receive an antifouling coat of paint.
I hope so. Just today, some help in getting scheduled into the yard. I contacted the owner of the many of the businesses in the boat yard in Charleston and he said he would make it happen. The Yard is run by the Port of Coos Bay (a tax district) and managed by a Public employee that gets paid whether I am there or not. He would not even schedule me in, just said, they didn't have room for a 60 foot boat. They own the land but all the business are private and the owner of some of those said this is stupid, your boat is beautiful, we are going to park it right in front of our office in our parking space. Don't care what the Port says, plan on 6/12. He has all the facilities I need. I said thank you sir.
