rangers are "fatigued" Lol Tampa is "deeper"... Maybe but Killorn, Stamkos, and the second line are the only players scoring against this team
It's a new angle for him after every game. If the Rangers win tomorrow what will it be then? They got a good night's sleep?
I use to think McGuire was fair and objective.... Boy was I wrong, he blew OV and the Caps all series... Look what happened there.. I don't agree that the team is fatigued. They just aren't executing the game plan the proper way and Lundqvist has been having a rough game. It's not like he's getting beat on screens or deflections
The problem with him is that it's too much of him on NBC now. He used to check in from between the glass. Now he's yapping the entire game.
Agree you cant have a color man between the boards he has some insight and feel of the game but can not possibly see everything
He does not shut up for a minute and when he tells us during the game what high school or junior team a guy played on or who was his hockey coach before the NHL. Who gives a rats ass?
Media bigwigs getting on Nash, MSL and Lundy. Many fans on this board have given Nash & MSL the thumbs down verdict long before the media questions their leadership & lack of scoring in the playoffs. Lundy gives up 12 goals in 2 games and the "know-it-alls" say Lundy needs to take a seat on the bench. Yes, it is frustrating to watch two prolific scorers not be able to help their team win games. Both players are stuck for different reasons: Nash's head is in sync with his poor performance.....personally, he thinks too much out there; MSL has lost whatever skills he had with his age. Both have proved to be detrimental to the team and their personal negatives on the ice are really hurting the team's chances to advance. Lundy in this series has lost his lustre as the "king". Many opinions say he is not the same, and this may be so.....but you cannot solely blame the goalie with how this team performs in front of him, especially in Games 2 & 3. To bench him means you are thrusting Talbot into the "bolts'" den. Media pundits always need something to 'rag' on. Do they even have a clue as to what has made these Rangers excel? I doubt it.
Two games and many opinions say Hank is not the same. I love it cage. Your posts are always an interesting read, I'll give you that much bro. Only in America...LOL.
I will say this though, in a lot of ways this is why sports is ridiculous. For anyone to question Lundqvist is crazy to me. The guy was dominant for 13 games. In game 2 he let in 6 goals, but truth be told how many were really on him, team didn't show for that game. In game 3 he wasn't good. Maybe 3 of those goals were very stoppable/preventable and he was clearly off his game. Now we sit here and say should he be benched in favor of Cam Talbot...it is crazy really. What have you done for me lately takes new meaning on this one. I expect Hank to play well tonight. It is what he's always done. But you want to tell me he let's in a couple of soft goals and we are down 3-1 or something like that, okay maybe you then try and mix it up in game, but any talk of Hank not starting tonight is utter nonsense IMO. This is an example of why it must be difficult to be a coach/manager and respond to nonsense questions from the same people who 3 days ago said Hank was the Conn Smythe leader...LOL.
Can you imagine being Hank? ZERO margin for error in EVERY single game we have played this postseason, with us playing some piss poor D in front of him, scoring almost no goals, and we win every game we have to anyway. No excuse for that OT goal, but some of you folks are pretty far out there. Both of my kids are goalies, and I have seen them lose focus when they continue to get ZERO support from their team, both offensively and defensively during a tournament. Not an excuse, but Hank, like anyone, is human, how many times can he be expected to win for us regardless of us scoring 1-2 goals, or playing piss poor defence? He is not a superhero folks, he is just a goalie, and a great one at that. Maybe this is the wake up call that this team needed, Hank letting up 12 goals here, for us to get back to our game of defence first, then transition.
I will give my opinion on why I think you guys are way off in regards to Lundqvist. This team is in a win the cup now mode. There's no more moral victories as the window to win doesn't stay open forever. You can't tell me about no margins for error when the Rangers just scored five goals. That should be enough to win most games let alone the last one. Simply put Lundqvist was not good in the last two games. People can try and spin it anyway they like. When you are considered a world class goalie you're only as good as your last big game. Perhaps the defense hasn't been great but here's the problem. Nobody gives them enough credit for the teams they shut down. It's only how great Lundqvist is. Then there's these two stinkers and we're over analyzing each goal to determine which ones were bad, which ones he had no chance on and which ones were somebody else's fault. The bottom line is he needs to play much better against this team. The stone cold numbers is that he has allowed 28 goals in six games against Tampa this season. That's a 4.75 GAA and a save percentage in the 80s. For all the praise he gets he deserves criticism as well no matter whose feelings it hurts.
Okay, so you would start Talbot because Hank had a bad game? Otherwise not sure what your point is. Game 2 was not his fault as the whole team didn't show. No one said moral victories are good enough in the ECF, so not sure where you are getting that from. I know I am not defending Hank at all, but I also know the guy had a bad game and I am not going to get all crazy about it. Yes he was bad in game 3. Yes he let in a couple of soft goals. Yes the OT winner was a terrible goal. Outside of that not sure what else needs to be said. The way things work is fans go way over the top one way or the other, and to me that is what this is. People acting as if this is a big crisis to me is crazy. Others acting as if the D did something wrong on the OT winner is just as crazy. Hank had a bad game 3. Hank let in a terrible goal in OT. Okay...water under the bridge now. I fully expect Hank to come out and play much better tonight, and if he doesn't then I will be concerned because our season will be pretty much over if we lose. Not sure what else needs to be said.
Besides win best part of last nights game was not having to listen to pierre and doc. Hoping we can do that again and again and again
