The Giants just completed a sweep of the powerful $270M dollar Dodgers. Not only swept them but shut them out in all 3 games. I don't remember the last time I've seen that.

I know it only May but NOBODY picked the Giants even making the wild card this year but there pitching has been great (leading all of baseball in shutouts) And everyone seems to be healthy.

Now if only my other team (sorry Tom) the Yankees, can get there shit together.

No offense Rick but, the Giants are one game better than the Yanks and just how much "shit" are the Yankees supposed to get together?

THEY are the team which was the consensus pick to play barely .500 ball.

    Dig yourself man. lo!

How much shit are the Yankees suppose to get together? Are you serious?

Do you really base everything on the won & loss record?

The Yankees are batting a pathetic 243
The Yankees have only one 300 hitter on the team & he's currently on the DL
The Yankees have only 3 starters hitting above 250
The Yankees pitching staff has 1 shutout as a team
The Yankees have to be near the bottom in hitting with RISP
The Yankees have only 15 QS in 41 games.

It was not my intent to create a thread of Yankees vs. Giants, you've done that. And despite that I won't post the Giants numbers in the above categories to avoid making you look like a complete idiot.

WHAT SHIT DO THE YANKEES HAVE TO GET TOGETHER?....................................Really?

    Dig that.........................man! Next stupid question.

    Great Stuff Rick.........

I'm getting all the Yanx games on MLB Xtra Innings too, ........

After the Yanx games, I got the Bums right behind them on that TWB channel, TWB gives the Bums a pathetic $230 Mil a year. As I mentioned a year ago, I do believe any team who can pay (for example) 10 Mil to Brian Wilson to sit at home, Haren too, tho' the Marlins picked him up for chump change, while the Bums still pay him 10 Mil to play on another team. As in Kemp, 18.5 Mil of His 22.5 Mil Contract; is paid this year by the bums, and 3.5 Mil until his Padres contract expires.

Kershaw has stunk to high hell this year. I've seen every one of his and Greinke's games. Kershaw, a 2-2 Record, with 4 NO Decisions.......a WHAT 4.24 ERA, with 5 HR's given up..........

B/T pitches #44-60 Kershaws ERA is 4.40, Lifetime its 1.77 WTF? EH ????

It's Mad Bums or Greinke's year I think, so far. At this point, I think I'd rather have Mad Bum on the Yanx than Kershaw.

I get sick of Fans saying Kershaw is as great as Koufax, Bull fkng Shit.....
Kershaw went for win #100 on his 216th game, just like Koufax, altho' Kershaw did not get his #100th win for that game, Koufax did......(comparing Kershaw to Koufax is blasphemy), tho' the stats and awards do just that, we know better.....

I'm sure there is not one poster here, who would disagree Koufax was as good as Southpaw as there ever was. Sure he didn't physically last as long as Warren Spahn, but.....
Same with Marichal or Bob Gibson. Show me any fan who denies their greatness, and I'll show you a dumb fkng fool........who calls themselves a MLB fan, my ass....!

Kershaw has become toooooo predictable. First he's been having probs locating his fastball, then he misses his target, leaves a melon out over the plate & HR. So he uses his looper curve too often, while batters can sit back, when they see Kershaw isn't hitting his targets with fastballs, and here comes the loopers, the batters are sitting waiting for........and its going going gone.....!

    FK CK.....
I gotta' say tho' this being an old Brooklyn-NY Rivalry is as good as it gets, 2nd IMO behind the Yanx and Bosox.......and NO Sport will ever see a better rivalry than NY-Bosox........

I gotta' admit, I was wondering how you were doing, with the Giants re-surgence, and the Bums demise......

McCarthy already on the DL all year, Ryu now out for a year. With all the acquistions, the Bums Bullpen is fixed/repaired, while the other gold glovers like Darwin Barney sit in AAA, WTF.....???? NTM-they're also paying the Cuban 2nd bagger, while waiting to see if he can recover from TJ surgery....

On another note, the Cuban influx of Yasmani Grandal as the Catcher, Alex Guerrero as a SS, (who should be starting in lieu of Rollins, Jimmy gave up 4 errors the 1st - 2nd week alone. Alex has 4 walk off hits or HR's.....

Then ya' got the ROY I hope in Joc Pederson, this kid is amazing to watch. Great Gold Glove caliber work, speed to boot. His one knock: he came into ST with 40 HR's in the 1 yr Minor Lg stint. He had 4 tools, then all the sudden he begins to hit bullets along the opposite field line.....yet he's still swinging for the fences.....

NTM-Joc is 2nd in walks, good eyes.....(not IBB), and has to get his avg up.

To Summarize, the Bums SP is in trouble, while the Giants may of got off to a slow start, but the sweep of the Bums is hopefully the spark to do it.....

Ya' know like you, I've always been a Yankees Fan 1st and foremost, but as a kid, I loved watching the Giants, and Bums, a bit young when they left NY, yet by 1960, my eyes were wide open, and I saw Koufax vs Marichal that year, and have been hooked since, Juan broke his bat over Roseboro's head/helmet......

blg, tell me this is not a great rivalry, and if not, I'll get you a seat with the bleacher creatures, and their will be a SF hat waiting for you and dont' bring any son or family members.......

That was pitiful, and both thugs are in jail......

Rick, YOU were the one who first related the Yanks and Giants in a post when you said in your post #1:

"I know it only May but NOBODY picked the Giants even making the wild card this year but there pitching has been great (leading all of baseball in shutouts) And everyone seems to be healthy.

Now if only my other team (sorry Tom) the Yankees, can get there shit together".

And you also criticize me for thinking I base everything on W-L records?

Guess what? I must've read dozens of times where fellow posters have said "winning is the bottom line"...... and THAT IS a pretty good measuring stick. Lmao.

And.....don't you think you're putting a little too much emphasis on "batting averages" at the expense of SCORING runs, PITCHING well and WINNING?

Okay, now that we know the Yanks are a half game out of first place after a 2-7 road trip....here are some numbers for you....they may not be overwhelming or good enough for you but here they are:

Yanks are 6th in the league in SCORING,
..... just six runs away from the # 3 spot!
They're 6th in the league in OPS.

The Yanks' pitching have the 5th best ERA and WHIP in the league, and the Oakland A's lead the league with FIVE shutouts and are currently residing in last place......
    .....hardy har har...

Yankees are better than most in their league in both SCORING and ERA and they can move back into 1st place by tomorrow.

    One last thing.....and I don't enjoy this-
Your credibility and integrity when discussing the Yankees can be questioned because you're a SF Giants fan..,..Jes kiddin.

Read this post twice....it'll do you good and help you along with the Yankees current situation and see what I see. No fairy tales.

Okay.....have the last word on this one and let's drop it.

Wait, I don't believe this, try & keep up. Your question was, 'how much shit are the Yankees suppose to get together"? So I responded by pointing out the things they need to improve on & instead of agreeing or disagreeing with those points you go off on a trip about how the Yankees are 6th in this & 4th it that etc etc. I know I shouldn't be surprised by this but DAMN!

Rick you have my permission to talk all you want about the G-men...I rescind my previous gripe with sincere apologies. Look for starters Sabean has a plan, it makes sense and its working. Bochy is a heck of a strategist, and well their star left hander isnt washed up.
