I only see a few of the regular jumpers giving up. I think the rest of us know what we are up against, know it will not be easy to win down there tomorrow night, know we need to play MUCH better than in game 5 to have a shot, but also know this team seems to battle back from bad spots time and time again.

I wouldn't bet on us winning tomorrow night, but I also know we will be much more motivated and focused than game 5, and I expect us to play much better as well. Will it be good enough...don't know, but they'll drop the puck and we'll hope for the best. All we can do.

No. They can win 2 straight. I just felt all year this team was no constructed to go against big, fast teams that could match their speed. Tampa is just that. They will need a lot of bounces the next 2 games to win it.

I don't think they need bounces, they need their top players playing well and scoring some goals. You know kind of how TB has beaten us with two lines scoring.

Wait the Bolts top players are scoring like top players AND our top players haven't done much in this series (Brass, Nash, MSL, Hags) and we are trailing 3-2...shocking.

Last time they won the cup they were down 3-2 and everybody wrote them off agree game 5... They have to be aggressive tomorrow, I think Hank finally gets the shutout... MSL or Nash have to score

They had Mess. An all time talent. He willed them to game 6.

Hoping MSL or Nash can do that is a pipe dream at this point

While I agree with dump on most of his points. It is mind boggling, as soon as the team is down in the series, he comes out and starts all these threads regarding a major overhaul. The top players haven't produced enough in the playoffs, thats the bottom line here. Nash had a tremendous regular season. MSL had a good regular season.

If they end up being eliminated here I don't think a major overhaul is needed but they will need to ask themselves what needs to be done to get over the hump in the playoffs.

The problem is Sather did not address the most pressing needs at the trading deadline. I was saying that Yandle was not needed but yet people loved the trade.

Interesting when you factor in Yandle has been our best dman this series.

You said it in your first post Step and frankly just need to stop there. The Rangers top players are not getting it done this series...period.

I know all fans think they are the smartest people in the room and have all the answers, but sometimes the answer is that simple. The Rangers best players have done nothing...the Bolts top players have been very good...we are down 3-2. That simple to me. The rest of it is all fluff BS talk.

I don't think anybody is giving up, just not happy with the lack of PLAYOFF effort that they showed in a game 5, at home, with the series all even at 2.

Tampa has the type of team that will come out and play with the type of effort they need, in order to close this series out in 6. After watching game 5, at home, I'm just not sure this team has the WILL to come out and stop them. I believe from the coaches on down, they will say all the right things (which means nothing), but I'm looking for a playoff intensity, that I (we) really haven't seen yet. I don't care how they play tomorrow, if they lose, it's a disappointing season, because they put themselves into these types of situations ... on a consistent basis.

On paper I believe the Rangers are a better team, but it comes down to heart ...

Rangers needed 3 players to step up this series. In the first series (outside of Hank all playoffs) it was : Hags-Hayes-Brassard 2nd: Kreider -Stepan-Fast

Here I called for Yandle-Nash-MSL.. They playd good 1 game and won 5-1... Outside of Kreider-Stepan-Fast the team has done shit and it starts with their top guys

That's it strud...the bottom line no matter what other BS we all spew in here.

And I agree jam. This season was cup or bust. If we lose tomorrow night the season goes down as a failure, that's just the reality of this season and the expectations for the Rangers.

I don't care if Nash scores another goal in these playoffs, he just needs to go to the net on a consistent basis. If he does, he will create more scoring opportunities for those on the ice with him.

If he doesn't, then ship him out ...

You have to admit it is kind of funny about Nash though. Game 4 goes to the net hard. Scores on a drive. Scores on a rebound right in front. Everyone saying now he has it. The light has gone on and he gets it now. Needs to be in front for dirty goals.

Fast forward to last night, and again on the outside, never in front, never driving hard. Just so darn odd to me. I really don't understand what goes on in his head.

Or AV's head. Is AV telling him that in order to give this team the best chance to win, you need to get to the front of the net?

If you aren't going to the net, then you are not making there defense work as hard as they need to.

Would be very foolish to give up on this team given their record facing elimination. Playoffs are an emotional roller coaster and games like last night make people over react. It will be a tough game to win tomorrow but the core of this team plays its best hockey w their backs to the wall. If they can win tomorrow the series changes. Do you think Tampa fans would be excited about facing Henrik in G7 at the Garden on Friday given his track record of play in G7s at home????

Just bring your A game tomorrow and let the chips fall where they will.

You just can't keep testing hockey Gods like this and keep winning all those elimination games. At some point you run out of luck.

As far as, offseason, I think we cannot get rid of both Yandle and Boyle. Pick one! I don't really care which one goes, but Boyle hasn't been that bad in this series. I don't care which one stays but both cannot stay for sure.

I think to the core mentioned by dump, we should add Hags. Hags is the one of two players who bring energy to this team in the playoffs. Him and JT Miller. I think Hags is important to this team going forward. Glass has to go. I totally agree with dump. Our 4th line last year played against top lines last year and they did a great job at that, plus Dorsett and Moore brought energy to the team which was energy line, this year our 4th line just plain sucks. It shouldn't be too difficult to correct that. We need a power forward instead of St.Louis like Lucic type and one physical D.

I disagree with dump on McIlrath. McIlrath sucks. He was so slow during preseason that I don't think he would do well here in the playoffs. I don't think this team is that far off, just couple of tweaks in the offseason. (Faceoffs, Physical on D and better 4th line)
