It's getting to that point where their PP struggles are seeping into their 5 on 5 play and they're gripping their sticks too tightly and getting too cute out there all the time.
They are just one and done on every zone entry, whereas Tampa maintains zone control. Passes are behind guys. And now they are legit just getting the puck into the zone, dumping it and then going off for a change. They're not even trying to maintain any sort of zone pressure because they're so concerned with getting off the ice.
Is that AV'a gameplan??? Seriously, they did the same thing against the Kings last year.. Go up 1,2 goals then nothing the rest of the game... Not to mention squandering the lead
Sadly it's once again and example of letting the opponent play out their game plan. If you're that afraid of the opponent get off the ice and let them move on.
This is almost laughable at how awful we are at zone control. We get into the zone and look lost. Guys not sure where to go, passed behind guys or to where no one is. They get into the zone and we can't figure how to get out. Just stupid, lazy and sloppy
I see the strategy now. Their going to tire the tampa skaters out by letting them come in on odd man rush after odd man rush and the defense is pretending to be a complete turnover machine so tampa will keep skating hard
I'll throw out a Chuck line --- it is what it is ---- they win 2-1 great they don't whatever. At this point they are playing a similar gameplan as TB did in G5... If they win it will be 2-1 because they aren't thinking offense tonight
