Any of you ever have a second interview with a company? Have a second interview coming up and have never had one before. It's much easier to navigate through the interview process when you already have a job I've learned. Tips? Experiences?
Not sure about 2nd interviewing specifically but i do a lot of interviews for my job. Look into behaviorial interviewing example questions. Identify the subject of the question in your answer, such as "the conflict was..". Use strong specific examples and dont answer in general, and also never guess or make shit up.
I think the key is to try and create a connection, rapport. You have the skills or you wouldn't have made it this far. But, can you think on your feet, are you easy to work with, can you chat easily? These are the things they probably want to know. If possible, finding something to talk about, other than strictly work, works.
This is a pretty new trend. I haven't been looking for a job or anything but I have friends that are. And there are 2nd and 3rd interviews now, pretty crazy shit.
Repeatedly. Standard in tech industry. Hope I'm not too late. If first interview was one or two people, now you'll meet a lot of folks, both the group you'd be joining and the various people with whom they interconnect. If your first interview was a mass one then the reverse, you'll probably talk to one or two folks. Do your homework! Know about the position, the company, be prepared to say why you want the job, why they should hire you. Be prepared to talk about "negatives" - a time when you had a conflict and how you resolved it, describe a failure and what you learned. Dress appropriately and leave your scented products at home - many people get sick from these products. Bring a bunch of copies of your resume, nicely formatted. They may have e copies which look shitty and are hard to read. Think of questions to ask, which will vary depending on the person. Sometimes interviewers ask what they know are illegal questions to see how you respond (how old are you? are you married? do you have any injuries?) Unfair but it happens. Sometimes they just are too uninformed to know these are illegal. Have a stock response like I have no personal committments that would prevent my doing my job, or I am capable of performing all job duties. Hope this helps, let us know how it went.

IT ALWAYS IS BRO. LEARN THE DIRTY HR TRICKS. What usually happens (according to my homies) is they keep you in the loop until the other guy starts in case he fucks them over by taking another offer.
how was the interview? was it one of those marathon ones where you meet with like 5 different people and answer the same fucking questions.
Wasn't bad. Was less formal. Had three people. I don't really get nervous in interviews anymore. I have a ton of experience in my field so I always have the confidence to sell my accomplishments. Basically just answered the same questions as the first but to different people
