Honestly this team grinds out every playoff round and it takes it toll. Even Pitt was a grind.

Nope, not at all Al. But I do think he should have mentioned they needed to create more. They needed to get more done in games 5 & 7. It wasn't good enough.

Just my opinion and what I like to see from my leaders. To each their own.

To even think about McIlrath he needs to become a 800 times better skater. That is on him. He is not NHL ready from that POV, not by a longshot.

From what I heard from people who watched the playoffs down there McIlrath was painfully slow.

Maybe he does it behind close doors, your drawing an opinion on very limited access. Trust me I want the rah rah get loud in your face leaders, I am a big Rex Ryan guy... We just don't know what goes behind closed doors. Maybe he doesn't want to sound like ovechkin in his press conferences because we see what happens when a captain goes all out and says what he means and wants.

I guess McD dealt with this for a few games...really shows what a warrior he is. That is great to see for his future as a leader and a player.

Could be Al. I just know I would have mentioned it, but again that is me. After your team gets shutout in back to back huge home games I say something about that and how it wasn't good enough, but that's just my opinion. Wouldn't have changed anything, so not a huge issue either way.

I think he comes back healthier and has a much better season next year. Those two shoulder injuries did him no favors either.

Maybe it's just the way you feel after your season ends, especially after getting shutout again, but I really have a lot of doubts about next season. Going to be tough to regroup and be that team again next season. We'll see though...

Chuck we agree to a point... This was a regular season game u would want my captain to make a statement like what your asking.... Playoffs.. Elimination games.. No.. Because it's obvious to everyone.

Chuck, from all reports I read on him his skating is fine its making the stupid stretch pass he has trouble with that I don't care about. Kid is a shutdown d-man down there that is a stalwart on the pk and in close games plays every other shift in 3rd periods while team protecting a lead. Kid gets a bad rap because he got undressed by tarasenko (how many other players do also) and thats all you hear. We have no intimidator on the back line that does anything besides throw out a stick or an arm and allow teams liberties with hank in front which will end with this kid out there. If not traded at the draft which would be a mistake imo big mac will be on the team next season. Not to mention he is the only RD in our system.

Kreider and Step didn't do much the past few games. And Nash was great in games 4 & 6, but outside of that he had ZERO points in the other 6 games since his game 6 goal against the Caps...not enough.

Chuck he doesn't have to say any of that, and I wouldn't really expect any of them to say any of that. We saw games 5 and 7, and we saw what they failed to do in getting shut out both times. This was there series to win, and all they had to was take it. IMO they mailed it in (both games). And I don't know how you do that twice, at this point in the season.

We all know it but he doesn't say it. Again I differ from you guys, I mention it for sure. But again just my opinion. We don't have to agree of course. And I also don't think it is this huge issue either, just something that I would have liked to heard.

It dosent matter if you have 107 pts or 88, just get in and you have a shot. The Rangers are definately a solid playoff team. From there who knows.

I hear you but I think the only captain that could make statements like what you want to hear better have won something to back it up. Not a rookie captain.
