He can't sign anywhere he wants. He can only sign with the Rangers as long as they match. Teams aren't going to give up a ton of draft picks for the money it will take to sign him away from the Rangers. Over 3,364,000 and they get a 1st and 3rd. He's get over that if a team signs him as a UFA. Let him walk. The odds of them getting a first is pretty much a lock because there is no way he's not getting that money on an offer sheet. Basically, there might be one team out there sitting at 25 to 30 in the draft that figures Hagelin is worth a first rounder that might take 4 years to make the NHL if he isn't a bust.

Yea but there is 1 open starting spot, a 7th Dman...

McIllrath should be in the mix next season

Who do they fill that 1 spot with? MSL? Stewart? Williams?

Who are they going to trade.... Glass? Boyle?

Same old crap dump, team consistently disappoints

    My plan is simple.

Bring Hags OR MSL back (cheap). Resign the other RFA's. Add a righty top 9 winger with fire and grit. Deal Talbot. Maybe buy Boyle out (I could go either way on this one). Away we go.

    That simple to me.

As long as they match, Rangers might not match is my point. Let's see what type of compensation they tie to Hags, that will be interesting. Around 3 I am in, more than that you cannot bring him back IMO.

Boyle played ok... Rough at times but had 10 points in 19 games. Not bad for a 6th dman.. However at 4.5 mil he's not worth it... Just look at TB playing Sustr and Nesterov.. They need more offense in the playoffs.. I don't think Justin Williams will be the answer

I am honestly fine with whichever way they go with Boyle. For one more season I am good if he is here. And if not I am fine with that also.

Like I said, I keep it simple. I don't think this is a major need offseason. I think it is a tweak some things offseason. MSL gone or greatly reduced. Top 9 righty to replace him or Hags. Resign RFA's. A few other minor things as I said. Nothing crazy. Let the kids grow off this season, JT, KH, CK, JF.

That guy is freaking clutch though. I'd take Glass sent packing, Williams on board, Lindberg on the 4th line and perhaps one big deal to change the unit up front some. Though I'd rather get a player in their mid 20's.

What I lke about Williams is a righty shot, which we need badly. What I don't love is he turns 34 in Oct. I can live with that as a win now team, but I also don't see how we afford him. I think we can let Hags or MSL go and deal Talbot, which means maybe we can afford a 4 mill player in this spot +/-, but Williams has to get more than that off 18 goals and 41 points. I bet he gets 5 per from someone. He is an older more clutch Cally who got 6 mill per.

Like Williams, he would be a fit, just don't see how we afford him.

I like Williams a lot too but I just feel he expended his clutch\playoff ways...I could be wrong. I was calling for the Rangers to sign him when he left CAR, lol too bad ESPN message boards went defunct

4 years 4.5 per maybe... Term is too long but he'll be looking for 3-5 years.... Seems like a California surfer bro so I'm sure he wants to be back and the Kings we'll want to keep him

Williams has won 3 cups has scored 30 post season goals including 7 in G7s and is 7-0 in game 7s in his career

For a 3rd line player good luck finding a more clutch performer and it's not like he's 38 hes only 33

I hear you there Dis, just not sure we can afford him, that's my biggest question about Williams. From a fit POV he is perfect for us and exactly what I said we need earlier today.

The thing with the Rangers is that they're at the point where anything except a cup win is a major disappointment. Another finals loss wouldn't of been any better.

Cup or bust. That was the way it was this season, and the way it will be the next 3 or 4 seasons also. This is a 100% all in win now team. Every move we make has to be geared towards that within reason. Hank is 34 next season...clock is ticking as the East gets better around us.

How about trading Girardi or Stall? Doesn't really matter who? Either one would do. If Sjeci is so good, then let him play top 4 D position and keep Boyle for one more season. Also, I think Stepan should be traded to for a true 1st line center. Brassard is a perfect second line center but Stepan is not first line center. I agree on Hags. If he wants 4M then trade his ass out of here. I don't care if they trade entire team away at this point. It is not working. This group will not win the cup.

Now I see it has nothing to do with Strallman, Caly or B.Boyle. The result would have been the same.

These are my keepers: Girardi or Stall, McD, Klien, Yandle, Boyle (maybe). I really don't care if he stays or goes. He is not the problem nor a solution. From forwards CK, Fast, Brassard, Zuk, Hayes,Moore,JT and Lundqvist. Everyone else should be traded.

    Stepan 6M
    Hags 4M
    Boyle 4.5 M
    Stall 5.5 M
    Nash 7.8 M
    St.Louis 5 M

That is 32M to work with. Half of the salary cap today that we might have available. It needs to be done.

The team is going to keep the D the same probably... I think they sign Williams for 4 years. Guy is clutch as hell and that's what they are missing... But he's 34 at seasons start. Ideally you only want him 2-3 years..Maybe he sparks Nash?

If this team is interested in trading for a true number 1 center, i would look at san jose and see if a stepan and hags for Pavelski could be had. theres alot to be pondered this offseason. I only hope scott arniel is fired, the man is not a power play specialist coach. They should try to get adam oats, man he is a pp genius.

SaveLundy... I totally agree with you. PP is the reason we lost. PP let us down and that was the reason why we lost in the end. Tampa is not a team that come from behind and win. I don't think Tampa handles momentum swings very well. There has to be major changes this year, or result is going to be the same. I think a lot of the guys we have are overated. I like Pavelski deal. We should try that. Stepan and Hags for Pavelski type deal.

Trade the whole team. Step, Hags, Girardi, Staal, Boyle, Nash trade them all. MSL gone. Fire AV. Strip it all down.

Keep doing what you do 2009...LOL.
