Funny thing, the Astronauts aboard STS-26, Return to Manned Space Flight (Sept. 88) were In House, and told Us, (Rockwell STSD Employees) that WE were the wind beneath their wings, no SHIT.......not only did we get opportunities to chat with every Astronaut, prior to every mission. They'd came IN prior to Launch, it was a big affair, Plant Shutdown for half a day, while: we were all given a VHS Tape, titled: "Wind Beneath Our Wings", a great 20 minute film, with Midler's version of the song by the same title.......!!!

So did I & that's probably the nicest shot I've seen of her.

Yeah, there are quite a few "unflattering" shots of her for sure...

When Midler hit with a cover of the Andrews Sisters forties tune "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" a rather paranoid friend of mine claimed that Nixon was trying to infiltrate Rock Music with those old tunes and kill it. The record sold well but ended up being another top forty contribution. I never paid much mind to Midler or her career choices in music or screen, always thought she was a bit gross.

Nice caboose.... Seen a picture of her (maybe Rolling Stone?) years ago swinging her dress around....no "undies" - I've never forgotten it.
Mesmorizing photo - she is a natural!
