<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I do want to clear up something because me and my teammates have been having an argument for the last couple days. I said, ?Name the top three players in the game.? Name them. I always say, ?How does everyone overlook A.I.?? How do you look over somebody who for the last nine years has been in the top three in scoring each year? I?m just saying, it?s dominant. He dominates the game of basketball. He is one of the most feared players. I take Kobe, then him and then after that you can throw anybody you want under there. So the second best player in this league, he can go anywhere he pleases.</div>Taken from his blog at http://www.nba.com/blog/gilbert_arenas.html

I really like Gilbert, hes a real cool guy (but what he says), not to mention he is one of the best players in the league.

He's right up there with LaDanian Tomlinson as the most humble athletes. While I say this I think that some of them are genuine, while others just put that over themselves to gain more fans. You can't tell me that every single pro athlete that's humble like that actually feels that way all the time. Tomlinson and Arenas though are two guys where you can tell that it's genuine. Two good guys.
I agree, It's good of him to be humble like that and recognize who the better player is. I have alot more respect for him now.
he's still a weird dude, between the crispy cremes and the "you can't arrest me I'm a basketball player"
I think he's a funny guy, and a humble guy. I like the fact he didn't say he was the best player in the league in the interview, alot of guys in this league wouldve..(like Mike James )
Once again the dumb Lakers fans who feel responsible for Kobe getting owned try to cover him up. Let the guy make mistakes!
wow I really like GIL, Much respect Gil. I really like the respect. I think its funny that guards only say that other guards are the best no mention of TD KG etc lol Love it!

I've always loved Gilbert Arenas off the court. He's always seemed like a cool cat to me.

I've liked Gilbert ever since I heard about how rough his childhood and basketball career as a kid were. His mom left him and he and his dad lived in a car for a few years. When he got to high school, the basketball coach told him that he would never make varsity at that school. So he moved schools and played very well. He caught a break by getting a scholarship to Arizona (since he didn't have that great of a high school career). He was then promised a first round pick (I cant remember the team) but snubbed. He had to work for everything he ever got. His life as a basketball player is a bittersweet one. He's a funny guy, and he's humble.

How come whenever anyone discusses Gilbert Arenas...people always talk about how he's come from nothing and had a lot of hardship and roadblocks...etc... Most NBA players have come from absolute sh*t and faught hard to be where they are...a lot of them didn't have fathers or family and a lot of them were lied to going through the draft...etc...It's always seemed like Gilbert Arenas wants people to feel sorry for him.
