I pretty much agree across the board 94. I think Boyle could move (he could also stay), and Hags could be back (and could be gone), but outside of that I agree.
Doesn't matter what you think because as I tried to tell you all season this team was flawed. You saw it in the playoffs. There will be major changes. Confirmation this morning that Sathers last 2 big deals were moronic. Brooks approved of them and he's the biggest moron Rangers fan on the planet. This team was not built for the playoffs. It was built for the regular season. The UFA is non existent. Teams overpay and lock up all their young players early so they never hit FA until they are ancient. Rangers most likely will make 2 major trades this off-season. I still see a line of Hagelin-Lindberg-Fast for an all Swede line on this teams future. I don't see Yandle here at all. They probably have no chance of signing him and losing him for nothing in UFA is totally unacceptable. If he isn't traded then Sather has to convince Staal or Girardi to accept a trade. Nash, well, it depends on what is offered. If Colorado came with the 10th pick overall and O'Reilly who obviously has no interest signing there, I'm doing that deal. Move Hayes to wing.
I'm not worried about Nash not wanting to go there. In the end, when you aren't wanted by your current team and you are 30 as an NHL player, you'll probably be agreeable to a move. Especially when you can leave here to play with either Duchene or McKinnon. I think Nash would be fine with that move.
After reading about how much Lombardi on the Kings likes Yandle, I see a real possibility of a trade there. Kings have what this team badly lacks. Role players with size and some skill.
Brooks AND dump approved of them...LOL. And yes, you tried to tell us they were flawed when you gave up in Nov. Then again when you gave up in Dec. Then when you were sleeping during the Pens series. And then when you were watching the NFL draft during the Caps series. Team was flawed all the way to game 7 of the ECF. If that's flawed what are the other 26 teams that didn't make the CF's...LOL. But you did tell us dumpy....
I will add this as an overall comment though. If the Rangers can make smart deals I think all discussions should be open. Yandle, Nash, other. Not sure either guy gets moved, but as I said earlier in the week, if you are being responsible and doing your job, everything should be on the table for Sather/Gorton. I would not dismiss anything without exploring and discussing. We are so close, let's put the finishing touches on this team, and to do that everything should be on the table.
The flawed team was one period away from back to back finals. Can't imagine what a good team looks like.
I disagree. This team was significantly worse in the playoffs than last year. Only a couple of our regular, dumbass posters can't admit it. The farm system is crap because of the last 2, big deals Sather made. It has to be fixed.
Dump quotes: HF boards are too funny. The Rangers haters talk about how the Rangers farm sucks and the prospects are overrated. Now they make it seem like Duclair is a franchise prospect and the Rangers got ripped off. That board sucks on an incredible level. I said I don't mind giving up a high pick for a difference maker. Yandle can be that. Let's face it. Boyle has sucked on the PP. He's too old and has lost it. Yandle can improve the PP. His passing skills also factor in to setting off the transition game with Kreider, Haglein, Nash and some of the other speed guys. I can live with this. Love the moron anti Rangers fans stating we will be screwed in a few years on HF. Miller 21 Kreider 23 Hayes 22 Hagelin 26 Stepan 24 Brassard 27 Zucc 27 Fast 23 Nash 30 McDonagh 25 Staal 28 Yandle 28 Klein 30 Girardi 30 I don't see it. I figure, develop Buch, Tambellini, Skjei, Graves and Walcott, team can still be young in a few years. They have 2 good, young goalies in the system. I think they have gone as far as they can go now giving up picks. It can't happen again after this. They need to keep their first rounders going forward. So you say all that 3 months ago, and now the farm is crap because of the dumb deals Sather made, ALL of which you supported. That's our dumpy....
Next year is probably their best year in terms in contending... They need to make a few adjustments.. The farm is fine. Duclair has an NHL name, probably a 16-22 g top 9 forward, but maybe he turns out to be like Setoguchi, Dawes, Latendresse, etc who find their way out of the league .. This team has a Top 9 forward spot, 7th D and 13th forward... Will be interesting to see if they make a trade
The farm is not fine. It's been destroyed. Chuck, spare us with your long winded crap. Just admit you were wrong. Sather's deals were a disaster. They didn't win anything and the farm was destroyed in the process.
Long winded crap...all I did was post all of your own words from THREE MONTHS AGO. If it is long winded they were your words...LOL. Once again this is the time when I offer you my help dump. I posted everything you wrote, you liking all the deals and you yourself saying 3 months ago the farm is good and calling anyone who said it wasn't a moron. Now you act as if you were against all the deals and say our farm is terrible when 3 months ago you said it was good. So I offer you my help as a friend dump. I wish you would take me up on it. You need help. You have zero ability to understand how normal human interaction works, so please let me help you buddy...I care.
Chuck, But dump is right. Our farm is maybe worst among all 30 teams. I mean I understand your point that the team is young, but in a few years JT, Hayes, Fast and others would want more money and you cannot pay 5M to everyone. Every year team needs to have a talented young kid who is a difference maker at a lower price. I mean yeah Stepan is only 24 but he already costs 6M. What is the difference between 6M Stepan or another 6M free agent. No difference. Stepan is not the best center in the league, he is not even a #1 center. So when you farm is as empty as ours it is a huge problem. I agree with dump completely that we need to trade Yandle now especially if we cannot trade Boyle. The most idiotic move would be to trade Klein. Trading Girardi or Stall makes more sense.
Also, look at other teams. Their farm is loaded, and ours is empty. McIlrath probably not going to work out, I feel like it would have worked out by now. There is noone that is great. Bunechevich could be another Grachev for all that we know.
Chuck, imo the way I see it as good as yandle cap hit is at 2.6 skjei who is his replacement cap hit is better. Can't see keeping yandle all year to lose him for nothing as we are not paying him 6 plus a year after next season. Losing boyle goes without saying. Also don't see a problem breaking in 2 rookies as 5th and 6th defenseman with the top 4 we have which a lot of us have said is one of the top 3 groups in hockey. By the end of the season they will have experience and be cheap assets going forward so we can sign kreider and hayes. I think we will make one major trade before next season starts involving nash, or yandle. Moving talbot I think also is a given. Yes, we were on the cusp again of another sc final this year but the way we did it scraping by pitt (yes despite winning in 5 winning every game 2-1 to me is scraping by a depleted pitt team) the caps we were more than fortunate to come back from down 3-1. I think we need a couple of pieces to put us over the top, namely more physicality on d and a couple of rugged wingers that occasionally also put the puck in the net. The top teams never stay the same but always do a few things so they stay competitive now while staying within the cap while making sure they have replacements ready down below in case of injuries. We'll see what happens and probably in the not to distant future with this team but I will be very surprised if they don't shake things up
I'm confused 2009, those were dump's words 3 months ago not mine. I actually didn't say anything about our farm. He said it was good still after the Yandle trade. So was he right in March or is he right in June? So confusing...LOL.
I am done mel. I am done speculating on all the nonsense. None of us knows what will happen. We beat stuff to death in here going round and round and round. It is all nonsense, from me as well. None of us knows what we will do. I think we have all made our POV's clear. I do not think we need these sweeping big changes. I think we need a few tweaks here and there. I also would lean towards not dealing Yandle and Nash, and towards dealing Cam, but at the very least I believe Sather/Gorton should be working the phones and exploring all options with everything on the table. Whatever comes from it comes from it. It would be irresponsible not to look at all options, and I'm sure they'll look at all options. Then we'll see where we stand at the end of the day.
Same clowns who are stating none of these guys will get traded were the same guys who were sucking off the team during the regular season like all was good. They were also the same guys who had Sather giving up half his team for Nash. Reality is that this team should have lost in the second round. They were dumb lucky Holtby just whiffed on that soft wrist shot by Kreider or this team would have been getting crushed by the media far worse than they did a week ago.
Young guns will be transitioning from the juniors/college to the Pack.. There aren't many spots for young players.. I wouldn't worry dump, Rangers have a nack of picking good players in the later rounds
