Well, that's not good news. I'm not in favor of anyone on the roster doing anything other than sitting on their asses during the summer.

Just waiting to see what Ibaka says. Only one of them can play for the team, and people are speculating that Nikola has already received a guarantee that he'll have a roster spot.

Looks like Ibaka was leaning toward a summer off (and was being pressured to do so):

I wouldn't be shocked if the Bulls aren't thrilled with Mirotic's decision to play for Spain. Weren't there members of the front office or former coaching staff who made comments to the extent that Mirotic would benefit from a summer in Chicago?

Mirotic might find himself on the business end of a smear if he keeps this up.

Can Jen Swanson stop this somehow?

The one guy not overworked into oblivion by Thibs is going to do it to himself. What a sadist.

    Overuse.

Bulls were upset with Lu for playing for Britain instead of wrist surgery.

Team would have done to him what they did to Noah.

Actually, it wouldn't bother me much if he did play. We send guys off to play summer league basketball every summer; the tourney will be a higher caliber of competition. He was lightly used, only about 22 minutes per game, so physical fatigue shouldn't be an issue.

If he climbs to Ibakas level of use (33 min) - then - no, I'd say he should rest.

    Overuse.

    Not overuse.

    Which is it?

I am fine with Niko playing Eurobasket this summer. Competition will be good for him.

    So am I.

If he gets hurt, though, it's in competition that is meaningless.

Yes, but it might takes years off his career. GarPax or maybe even Silver has to step in.

Maybe Jen Swanson can give him some type of special brace or breathing technique to get him through the upcoming abuse.

Is there any way to smear these guys into not playing?

Can the Bulls take legal action?

Do the Swanson minutes restrictions apply to these international contests?
