Did you guys catch this from last night? Nothing groundbreaking, but still good to catch up with him, and hear MB and Rice again. He says he doesn't want to be boxed into that "stretch 4" role. He's working on post moves to become more well rounded. I like his "I'm a 4.5" comment.

Indeed! Great interview, loved hearing what he had to say (esp. working on post moves) and how he's matured with help along the way.

    4.5 ftw

I also liked the fact that he says he loves portland saying it fits him well even though he didn't think he'd like it at first because it's so far from Illinois

Odd enough, his hometown is about 40 miles from the hometown of another former Blazer center prospect: the one and only Greg Oden.

Turns out Portland's a much better place for a young white man than a young black man.

Am I the only one who thinks Meyers is gonna be an HGTV show host when he is 40?

I'm starting to fucking hate mike rice. He was killing the show, kept bringing up "getting the big money" and all that shit. Making the show rather uncomfortable.

Portland's also a much better place if you are married/engaged. Not saying it would be bad for a rich white single man, but I think it is a pretty good fit for couples from the midwest. They don't notice the weather as much since it is worse in the mid west. Summer and Winter.

Finally listened to it. Meyers is pretty sharp with a good sense of humor. I can see him being a fan favorite if he continues to play well, at least until he gets a big contract.............

Yeah, I heard Meyers is only a fraction of Oden, though. Meyers drinks like a fish, Oden drank like a whale.

Portland's a slow-paced, chill town. If you can't understand and appreciate, GTFO. A dude like ML can understand and probably enjoys being a big fish in a small pond. Dame seems to understand it. We bleed black and red for our team, so the guys are treated like royalty. Stay outta trouble, put in work on the hardwood, and we got your back for life. FAMS!!

Welcome, BJ, if I missed the formal intro. Long-timer, but apologies if I missed your arrival. I've seen a few quality posts from you (for all I know, you're a long-timer under a new name, no disrespect, been busy as fuck.... FAMS).

for what it's worth, at their respective pre-drafts Meyers measured 6'11 .75 barefoot while KG was 6'11.0

I've been wanting him to retire for years. He answers his own questions before the guy he's interviewing can even get a word in..he's a big reason I stick to the radio broadcast for all of the games. Brilliant basketball IQ but no talent with a microphone. Glad somebody agrees...I took a lot of flak for criticizing him in the past.
