No link, I'll try to dig up the details and where I got them. Paul said he'd pay, but only if it was for a contender. Remember, we were a long way from being called a contender at the time...

You guys are so negative... we'll be able to rebuild fast if he leaves. We have other assets and 3 good young players to build around for under $10M total.

You know what I notice? Canzano and his "let's make a story" cronies flapping their gums like crazy about Lamarcus is leaving based on "gut" feelings. The national media on the other hands is mostly saying "yeah it's possible but unlikely". National media sites actual logic like... Dallas would be no closer to winning that Portland. Dirk and Lamarcus play not only the same position, but the same space on the floor... ohh yeah and Lamarcus would be walking away from $27mill that he may never recap.

How do you know? There's more reports and signs saying he possibly won't be back than saying he will.

Usually the media gets these things right..

From his past trade requests, playing lifeless against the Grizz, not boarding the flight with his team, his subliminal cryptic messages on IG, I do not see anything resembling a player wanting to come back

you mean like the last time he was not coming back or the moving the team to Seattle or Lamarcus selling Damon Stoudamire's house?

Every single "report" on every single website that hints at him wanting to leave can be traced directly back to Jason Quick's bullshit "50/50" quote of an "unnamed player," and no further.

He's never asked for a trade, he said that IF the Blazers decided they were going to re-build from scratch, he'd prefer to go to a team that was ready to win now rather than spend his prime years playing through another youth movement. Since the Blazers never gave throwing in the towel a second thought, trading him was never put on the table by either side in the conversation.

Lifeless against the Grizz? Are you fucking kidding me? Did you not watch the series at all? He played brilliantly on defense against both Randolph and Gasol. Admittedly his offensive production suffered, but lifeless? Come on now.

You know he boarded that plane in order to take advantage of a rare opportunity to visit his mother, right?

Nothing subliminal or cryptic in his instagram stuff, seems pretty straightforward if you look at it without tinfoil wrapped tightly around your head, undistracted by non-existent black helicopters...

LA's 3pt shooting helped his efficiency numbers, but Dirk makes 3x as many. TS% isn't flawed, it just takes into account the 3 pointer and scoring off of free throws. Not following your train of thought here. Shooting 40% from 3 is a world of difference from shooting 40% from 2 pt range.

you're picking a couple stats Dirk excels in while trying to paint a whole picture. Makes no sense. He's a barely a better 3pt shooter.. they're the same in the midrange, and LA is better around the rim. But LA gets doubled all the time because he's such a threat, where Dirk gets played one-on-one

Yes he most certainly did. he could have taken the qualifying offer and played out his contract. Then become UFA. But no... He chose to extend his contract and remain a Trailblazer for 5 more years. Learn the game, then post.

    In closing:

You would really would hate LA for taking LESS money to go to try and win in say, San Antonio? People usually are commended for that...

Nooo, I was actually talking precisely about their shooting. To state they are the same is ludicrious.

That's not really the point. LA told everybody last year that he would re-sign with POR. If he had not said that, Neil would have explored trade opportunities and gotten something for him.

Considering what Minny got for Love, I have no doubt in my mind that LA would have drawn a return of similar value.

We will hate him if he leaves us this summer because we will get nothing in return for him (except for capspace).
