Many will argue that Bela Lugosi was the best but I still say it was this guy... http://www.nydailynews.com/entertai...opher-lee-dead-93-article-1.2254361?cid=bitly
If one reads Bram Stokers Book then sees Bela Lugosi as Dracula can make a pretty good pitch for Lugosi, the man had the look and the natural speech cadences right out of the Carpathians. Lee on the other hand had to do a bit more acting to achieve success and so he gets an a for the day.
Bela definitely had the voice & the stare, Maybe I choose Lee because of the color films that showed the blood shot eyes & the red blood trickling from his mouth after every bite. https://scarymotherfucker.wordpress.com/2012/08/06/dracula-v-dracula/ http://www.opinionstage.com/polls/horror-match-7-bela-lugosi-vs-christopher-lee
4 legends of horror.....http://www.movpins.com/dHQwMDg1Njkz/house-of-the-long-shadows-(1983)/still-804174336
I'll remember him more for Lord Saruman and Count Dooku, but I'm not as old as the ancient ones on here.
As good as those people were , standards for that horror genre were most likely set by Lon Chaney Sr. AKA "The Man With a Thousand Faces. Died in 1930 at the young age of 47.
Brilliantly portrayed by James Cagney in the 1957 movie by the same name. One of my favorite all time Cagney movies. A must see.
Vincent Price was great, one of my all time favorites. Was also his usual best with a voice over in one of the all time video/hits/songs/pop classics - Michael Jackson's "Thriller". His best role -imo, "House on Haunted Hill" They couldn't fool HIM!
Price was a slick looking, smooth talking individual who could turn evil on a dime and maintain a congenial manner while so doing.
With Price there were just to many enjoyable movies that he did to pick one but some of my favorites were.... House of wax Pit & the Pendulum The fly Last man on earth The Raven House on haunted hill
+> That movie was great BUT the skeleton walking out of the basement acid bath was really amateur. The female screaming was stupid as she could have run out of the room . The freakin fish line bone pile could do 1 mile per day. What was the deal with him and his wife? FYI: VP was an art expert The real deal art that was worth tons o money He actually had a show on it. Did you like him with the pencil moustache or the picture above??
+> I'm a big fan especially House on haunted hill. Of course The Raven is way too cool. I am a die hard Ravens fan.
