RHP - Michael Pineda, (7-2 3.33 ERA) VS. RHP - Ubaldo Jimenez, (3-3 3.02 ERA) Last time out against the Orioles Pineda struck out 16 LF - Gardner 3b - Headley DH - Rodriquez 1B - Teixeira C - McCann RF - Beltran SS - Gregorius 2B - Drew CF - Williams
A fairly large game. Baltimore, 1st game of the series, 1st game without Miller, Betances is THE closer, Jimenez has pitched well lately, can Pineda keep on keeping on, how will he react to his extra rest, tight division, can Yanks continue to put points on the board, (?), new 8th inning setup guys, Yanks need to bounce back from their last loss and avoid a June swoon tailspin....Yanks don't have an off day until July 2. This is the beginning of a portion of the schedule where the Yanks/Division race will take shape as we approach the All-Star break. Yep, a fairly large "June game".....there'll be others lol. Yanks ARE facing a tough road with some pressure and need to make the "adjustment" without their closer. -- tight race, ....baseball!
I saw a short interview with Ubaldo, in which he said, Pedro has been working with him, with his delivery, and a few other mechanics...... But I still think Ubaldo is a one year phenom from Denver......hopefully Ubaldo's wheels will fall off early in the game, or leave Him in, enabling the Yanks to kick his ass, & put a large point differential up, before he's hooked off of the mound....
Completely ridiculous how many times this team seems to fail in that bases loaded and nobody out situation. On top of that Pineda is clearly out of wack after missing a start.
