1) - The team optioned LHP Jacob Lindgren back to triple-A Scranton on Saturday, recalling RHP Jose Ramirez to add a fresh arm to the bullpen. 2) - Earlier in the day the Yankees signed RHP Sergio Santos to the 40 man roster, then added him to the active roster. Santos 31 made 12 appearences with the Dodgers this season posting a 4.73 ERA in 13.1 innings. He allowed 13 hits & walked 7, striking out 15. He's been with the White Sox, Dodgers, & Blue Jays since breaking into the league in 2010, compiling 30 saves for Chicago in 2011. 3) - As far as Lindgren he concluded his first stint with the team with a 5.14 ERA in 7 appearences, allowing a home run in each of his last 2 outings. 4) - Jacoby Ellsbury continues to rehab his right knee sprain & if things continue to progress he could head to Tampa when the Yankees head back north from Miami after Tuesdays game. Ellsbury has been out since May 20th. 5) - Ivan Nova allowed one run on 5 hits & a walk over 6 innings in a rehab start for triple-A Scranton throwing 73 pitches. He struck out four. Once Nova returns to the rotation, Adam Warren is expected to be lifted from the rotation & moved to the bullpen.
Tom I agree, especially if Warren has a good outing today. Unfortunately I don't see ANYONE having enough balls to move a $23M dollar man (even if he is useless) to the bullpen.
Call me old school but CC needs to step up and pull himself out of the rotation. This is the franchise of the Iron Horse, every star has to know to put the team first.
I believe it's an 'ego' thing with any sports' player not doing well. They really think they can turn it around. Woe, it's a hard learned question that most do not even want to think about. So, how come nobody is making the decision for the player?
...yup, and I don't base it on just just this year...CC has been a bad pitcher for a long time now. Yes, I'm aware of how much money he makes but so does ARod and ARod was told before the season began that he's have to earn his spot on the roster...and guess what?...unbelievably, he did. ...let CC pout for awhile, maybe it will wake him the fuck up.
Bingo, CC should approach Girardi and say "Skip I realize I'm hurting this team and I'm willing to do anything necessary to help including a change of my status. By so doing the man would gain much more respect from all than his current performances of getting bashed every 5 days.
