I know that before any trade goes through, it has to be submitted for approval. well, has there ever been a trade that didn't go through?
If they ever were going to do so, they would've in the Artest tradeCause, you know, Ron Artest and David Stern are best friends

I imagine so, but not often...I dont see them doing it cause of financial stuff...teams have whole offices for that kindve thing.
Yeah, I think the only way a trade can be overturned is if someone that is in the trade fails a physical or if they find something fineanically wrong, or a clause in a contract. Something like that would have to happen for a trade to be shot down. I cant think of a trade that has been shot down by the office though.
Teams usually look really hard into everything before they send it to the league...So it never happens unless a player fails a physical. You have to make sure the deal is 100% becasue you look like a joke if the league turns it down and no GM would want to go through that. (IN part because you have to deal with the players that you would have traded still being on your team, it's not a good situation, it's like telling an employee your fired and then the company says no...you have to deal with that employee).
I remember 2 years ago an Abdur-Rahim trade to the Nets was cancelled because he failed a physical, so he signed with the Kings instead.

I think he would of been a great addition to the nets if that trade would have went thru.
I think the Suns made a trade once but it was turned down. I don't know who it was for. My dad told me about it and I was in 3rd grade when he told me...
There have been a lot of trades recended by teams, but the only trade I ever remember the league not allowing was a deal between Kansas City, and Cleveland. Cleveland was trying to trade like 20 picks for three players and the league rejected the deal; shortly after that is when the league instituted the rule were you cannot trade first round picks in concecutive years.
This is going to sound like a stupid question but stick with me.. What are the criteria for failing a physical in the NBA?
