Just typing these words makes me feel dirty. But watching D'Angelo Russell, it's clear he's going to be pretty special. He's also tall enough to play SG. Which means he could play alongside CJ. Which Damian can't (really).
It's pretty much a given (supposedly) that the Wolves will take Towns. Also Flip Saunders has reacted pissily to the suggestion that he might trade Rubio, so it looks like even if they didn't take Towns, they wouldn't take Russell. So Russell will be there at the Lakers' pick. Now, the Lakers, being the Lakers, probably would prefer a star player to a rookie - I mean, that's what they feel entitled to. So they'd probably do it. Would you?

(Not saying I would, especially if Damian reads this board [or somebody tells him about it], just wondering if people think Russell is that good. Looks good on video, but lots of people do. Anyway, discuss.)

Sure Russell could be special but Lillard IS special. The last half of the season seems to be coloring a lot of people's perspectives.

Well, What do we know as a posssibility? We know there is a chance that both LA and Wes might be gone, which means what? A rebuild? Ask yourself this, is he meaning D'Angelo Russell a long term upgrade over Damon?

But what happened? He was looking pretty ordinary to me.

I'll tell you one thing I learned in the first game of Summer League. Our featured star McCollum is no Lillard.

Oh yeah, this is 2015. Like Batum, Lillard has gone downhill for 2 years because he copies Batum's Energy-Bunny defense, stupidly leading the league in distance per game instead of saving it for strategic moments. Neither has energy left for offense.

McCollum had a couple of good games and is on the upswing. When will their curves intersect so we can trade Lillard to the Lakers?

    Silly.

But I could see a sign-and-trade with LaMarcus and the Lakers. He does live in Newport Beach and they have some young talent they might be willing to trade for him. Seems more likely than the Mavs to me.

And in a few years we can trade DeAngelo Russell for another stud prospect!

Hey sly I got $5 for you fam, make it happen.

Why not trade him to the Twolves? They have no point guard, they love Portland, AND THEY ARENT THE F***ING LAKERS!!!

I find you're lack of faith (in Lillard) disturbing!

If LMA is leaving, it is worth discussing. Otherwise no.

Fuck no. I never want to see any of my blazers in the urine and lilac. You know he'd win rings in LA if he went there. How painful would that be, for a "hunch" a guy might be good.

Because a team with Dame as the only star has no hope. You trade Dame for somebody who will be as good as him down the road and tank like hell for one season. If things break right, you draft a second stud next year and start trying to win again.

Yes, it is risky as hell...but what is the alternative? If we lose LMA there is no room to play it safe. If he walks, we are talking Ragnorak!

Half the players in the NBA live in SoCal in the offseason..this is not a selling point. Baffles me that anyone would want to send a 4 time allstar to the Lakers...sheesh
