Tanka excepted for the most part Girardi can't trust his starters. Betances excepted he can't trust his pen, he can't trust his defense or the offense. We ll know who made the deals for this team, and we've seen a few in action this evening, those deals were bona fide losers. I don't know how much money Girardi has saved from his baseball earnings but I've heard he's pretty frugal. If I were Girardi I'd simply tell the Steins to take the job and shove it.
I will stand by my view in that there's just too much mediocrity throughout this roster and the only saving grace is a mediocre division and for the most part American League.
I agree that the division has lost a lot of steam, but then again we've seen alleged high roller pre-season picks go right into the ground despite the money they laid out. Boston for one, Chicago for another. Gonna be a rough ride and unless a miracle happens the 2015 edition of the Yankees will wind up in 3rd or 4th place.
...the mediocrity within the division is precisely why I don't feel so confident about the Yanx' chances. I see TB, the O's, Rays, and Yanx as being fairly even and since the W/C is not likely to come from the AL East, I see the Yanx' as well as the other afore-mentioned teams' chances at 25% of advancing to the PS..
Well not to beat a dead horse on Cano but he's killing Seattle's high hopes this year. It's June 16th and he's hitting .236 with 2 homers 19RBIs.
It's not absurd to say the Royals will have a very good chance to get back to the series. Of course a long way to go and you never know about the playoffs but hey good for them so far.
I've supported Giradi from game one but I think at this point he needs to start grabbing people by the stacking swivel, take some names, and kick some ass! From what I've heard the man is in damn good physical condition so he should have no fear. It would seem that quite a few players on this team mistake fair treatment for stupidity.
I think a big issue with this team now is they lack identity and with Jeter gone they lack leadership. Girardi can only do so much with the tools he has been handed.
...there might be a couple that could use a good bitch-slapping...but for the most part, the talent simply is not there.
I was totally into the Royals run last year and would root for them again if the Yankees are out of it. Obviously they weren't doing it on purpose but after all those years of tanking season after season and high draft picks. At some point the Royals and Stros had to develop some talent.
The real eye opener about this team is that there is not one starting player capable of being a leader. Not one in the lot has any interest and it shows every game...... and yes, even the games they win.
Its no secret that I've NEVER been a fan of Girardi & that to many of his decisions are extremely questionable BUT, with that said, its pretty hard to point the finger only at him when you have a lineup that has only 3-4 guys hitting over 250 & none hitting over 265.
Yup, that's very true. You knew there was going to be a void with Jeter leaving but nobody has bothered taking the reigns in that department.
Girardi as Yankee manager is given this bunch of mediocrity. Management is saying to Girardi, "Here, now make them winners." An impossible task. AND CASHMAN GETS OFF SCOTT FREE? Yankee management can question any or all the coaches and their manager.......these are the field chargers. Last year the onus fell on the hitting coach. This year they will fault someone else. Yankee management are the real shame.
You have the Rays twice, I think you meant Toronto, Os, Ray and Yanks...still 25%. I think that's generous when you look at mgmt, ballparks and youth. That and which of these 4 the Saux lay down for the most, lol!
Exact qoute in yesterday's newsday article, 'star studded padres fire skipper black, MLB report , I want an apology
How is it cashmans fault when the team wins 7 in a row against top contenders, then gets their hats handed to them vs inferior teams?
I'm having a Mensa moment, I'll have to get back to you , can I put you on hold for a moment, thank you
