I certainly wouldn't beg for him to come back, if he does, he does, if he doesn't, he doesn't.

Well, I think the roster needs a make-over, not just a new PF. But, if we were to keep the roster and simply replace LMA I think we'd be a better team with a healthy Ibaka. A few years back I would have said David West. In his prime Haslem was a good example of a championship-caliber PF. I'm still intrigued by Monroe - if we got a coach that taught good defensive principals I think Monroe could be a really good PF. I'm really interested to see what Meyers does next season - his Playoff showing got me excited. But there aren't many PFs I get excited about because I think PFs should be one of the least "exciting" players on the roster (at least LMA has that going for him!). I want a PF who does all the things that go unnoticed, but that make a team better, and put in maybe 10-14 points on high-percentage shots. PF is the easiest spot to fill, and can be played effectively by hard-hat/journeyman type players. But PFs need to (1) set good screens, (2) box out, (3) provide help defense, and (4) keep the ball moving on offense - those are things they HAVE to do, anything more is just a cherry on top.

Unless you have a center journeyman who does all of that instead. I think now a days you can only afford to have one hard hat starter ...the rest have to have offensive skills. Especially In crunch time.

Paying someone like Monroe a max contract would be a nice consolation prize if we lost LA, but you know we will all find fault with some aspect of his game. We do that with every player.

It seems that the fox has decided the grapes are sour, despite the fact that he hasn't even gotten close enough to try to jump for them...

That Kings team was not Webber and Co.

That team was loaded, I mean look at their playoff rotation:

    Mike Bibby / Bobby Jackson
    Doug Christie
    Peja Stojakovic / Hedo Turkoglu
    Chris Webber
    Vlade Divac / Scot Pollard

Oh and they had a 19 year old Gerald Wallace on their bench.

If you think you can't build a championship team around a PF...you probably hate the Duncan era Spurs

In all fairness he did preface it by saying: (unless you're lucky enough to have the best PF to ever play the game).

Lol Duncan shits on Aldridge every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Aldridge isn't even close to a top 10 Power Forward of all time... It's a disgrace to Duncan's name to compare the two.

I guess if he's into that kinda thing, maybe that's why he wants to be with the Spurs full time?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Pau Gasol should have been the MVP the last time the Lakers won the 'ship.

We beat the Spurs this season...it's no disgrace to call it like I see it. I've seen Lamarcus outplay Duncan. Triple overtime win in their house ring a bell? I love Duncan's game and so does Lamarcus.

Whoopdie do, they still beat our asses in the playoffs when it mattered.

The reason we won that 3OT game is because of Lillard going for 43 too, Duncan played just as well as LA did in 10 less minutes.

Duncan is a decade older than LA and still holds his own lol absolute prime Duncan destroys absolute prime LA and it's not even close.

I'm not saying LA is a bad player, he is a good player. Not great though.

In 20 years people aren't going to be talking about LaMarcus Aldridge as a top player at his position, he will be just 'one of those guys who were good'. The same way Alonzo Mourning is remembered.

How many players have not played well for Pop? Duncan was great, but I can not help but think how his career would have turned out if he had been drafted by someone else. A team with no team defense

If he didn't go the Spurs he would've been with AI in Philly (IMAGINE THAT DUO... DAMN!!!) or in Boston.

Lol Ummmm Duncan has 5 rings (should have 6). And countless other series victories/playoff wins.

LA? 1 playoff series win... And a record of...... 12-22

I love the "and it's not even close" argument. I'm not weighing in on LA vs Duncan, just that I find the use of this line on this board to be humorous. Kind of like, "Dude, I am so right it's not even worth trying to discuss it with me." Well, alrighty then. Case closed. ;)
