That one I actually believe. Sather better take advantage of that to unload Glass with Talbot which he should pretty easily be able to do. Especially to a team like Edmonton who has no leadership and is just a bunch of unprofessional, dumb kids who can't win.

Rumor was Edmonton was offering up the 16th pick in the draft.

    I'd prefer

    16th pick
    Mark Fraser

    for

    Talbot
    Glass

I've wanted Fraser for years. I think this kid is a late bloomer. He scored in the AHL a lot. He's got great hands and is a garbage goal guy. I just think he needs the right coach.

Post also talked about Boyle not retiring or asking for the trade. That's nice. They should tell him he will be traded or sitting in the stands. Then he will want a trade.

Brooksie said they asked about Doan at the deadline.. To me Doan is the kind of relic they needed in the playoffs... He's obsessed with Phoenix though and makes too much

I would have no interest in Doan. The fact he never wanted to leave Phoenix shows me he has no drive to win a cup. He basically just wants to collect a paycheck.

One, don't justify stupidity Al because a backup suddenly raised his value. Two, you have no idea if he will bring back a first. It's a rumor.

so in other words I shouldn't comment on rumors but you can propose trades left and right...umm..ok..gotcha

and the morale of the story (even if they bring back a second rounder) is that eventually you trade away some players for one reason or another and get picks in return for them. Whether it is Talbot this year, possibly Haglin too...especially when you have excess in a certain position..IE small quick two way wingers

I have no problem with Glass being here, he's the first legit enforcer the Rangers have had in a long time, did what he was brought here to do and did so for $200K less than the guy he replaced Derek Dorsett. James Sheppard is nowhere near as tough but I'd take Sheppard over the one-dimensional Hagelin who once again put up mediocre numbers despite his blinding speed. The Rangers future success doesn't hinge on the 8-9 minutes of ice time per game Tanner Glass gets.

Disagree. Some of it does. You can't have a completely worthless 4th line offensive which is what Glass makes it when you don't have a legit first or second scoring line that scores consistently in big games. The Rangers don't have that.

Wait..glass in an enforcer? What did he enforce? Glass is useless.

Just go to youtube and type in his name Al if you've already forgotten that Tanner drops the gloves and handles himself much better than Dorsett or Carcillo ever did.

I actually thought Carcillo was quite effective when he was here. I wouldn't characterize Glass as an enforcer but he will stand up to people.

Carcillo scored two huge goals for us last year in the playoffs, played effective minutes for the Hawks this year and even bumped up to the third line at times when they were banged up. And he did it with a cap hit of 550k.

Tanner Glass scored one goal all season, was a complete black hole on offense, sucked the life out of the fourth line and Dom Moore, and cost us 1.45m against the cap. How anybody tries to defend this guy is mind-boggling.

Carcillo played 39 games, hopefully he gets his name on the cup

Yeah he was a spare most of the year, but when called upon he did a damn good job. 4 goals 4 assists in 38 games....it would take Glass about 500 games to reach 8 points.

I have a friend who's a rabid Hawks fan, when Carcillo was bumped up to the third line for a few games and holding his own he was asking me why we let Carcillo walk when he signed so cheaply.

And dont forget my favorite Glass stat of all, 66 games, minus 12. Second worst player with at least as many games played: Dom Moore, plus 5. How that's even possible I cant begin to understand.

I thought they definately should've looked to re-sign Carcillo.

Again, what they should have done is used Lindberg or a kid on the 4th line, never signed relic Boyle and develop McIlrath. They have shown no commitment to him. All due to Av's stubborn, jackass mentality of puck movers on defense.

Yeah, AV was so stubborn when Fast, Hayes, and Miller moved into regular roles this season. Man he hates the kids...LOL.
