Hayes and Miller both improved their offensive game as the year progressed. Fast may be a step behind but he's strong defensively and stays out of the box. The Rangers much maligned farm system produced 3 solid starters last year and Lindberg's waiting in the wings with one or two defensive prospects. I don't know the league average but when you look at the Rangers roster and how many players came up through their farm system I'd say it's pretty strong.

Carcillo seemed to get the Avery treatment when he wore the blue shirt, don't know if that remained the case in Chicago but it was ridiculous how many times he was run at or slashed and then ended up in the box. I remember when he was either cross-checked or elbowed away from the puck in the Philly series and the refs put him in the box for embellishment but that was the same series that Hags was given a fighting major when he never took off his gloves or threw a punch.

I've always been a big supporter of our farm. All it has done is produced players consistently for 8 years. However, Sather has pretty much destroyed it by giving away 3 first round picks, a second and Duclair. The tool is now in scramble mode trying to get some of those picks back. Hopefully, he finds a GM dumb enough to overpay for a couple of our players.

Serious question though...after the Yandle deal you said our farm was still strong and the idiots on HOF had no clue what they are talking about. What has changed in those 3 months dump (outside of us losing in the ECF)?

That is a serious question. I am curious why the 180 when nothing has happened to change the farm since the Yandle deal.

chuck, just let it go. Who cares what he or she said a few months ago? People change their minds all the time. It's always a roller-coaster being a fan of this organization.

If the team had lost to Pitt last year and Wash this year I could get onboard with saying the deals really didn't work, but when you get basically to game 6 of the SCF and pretty much the SCF again(within 20 min), those deals definately payed off a pretty good amount. Sure they didn't win, but at what point do you say Dump the deals were worth it, only if they won?Got to game 7s? I doubt they make it out of the 2nd round either of the last 2y without them.

Most importantly...this is not a finished story yet. They will play hockey again in 2016 I think...I think we have as good a chance as any team to win next season...from there let the chips fall where they may.
