Tonight is the start of a 3 game series against the worst team in all of baseball. Last place with a 24-47 record & the worst road team in all of baseball 7-28 & losers of 8 of there last 10.

RHP - Michael Pineda, (8-3 3.54 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Kevin Correia, (0-1 1.69 ERA)

YANKEES NEWS & NOTES: Its getting tough trying to be the replacement for Jacoby Ellsbury, first it was Slade Heathcott who went down & now Mason Williams has been placed on the 15 day DL after jamming his right shoulder. which explains the call up of Ramon Flores.

Sergio Santos is set to undergo TJ surgery & has been put on the 60 day DL.

Don't expect to see Jacob Lindgren anytime soon. The lefty is expected to be out three months because of a bone spur in his left elbow.

CF - Gardner
3B - Headley
DH - Rodriquez
C - McCann
RF - Beltran
1B - Jones
SS - Gregorius
LF - Young
2B - Drew

The hallmark of a winning franchise is to beat teams like the Phillies, though they may see Hammels in game three they still need a sweep.

At worse take two out of three and keep on chugging along into July. Just noticed Tampa comes to NY for July 4th weekend.

Anything less than 2/3 would be extremely disappointing and a missed opportunity, - Rays/Jays playing each other. Good chance to pick up ground.

Go Yanks!

I think its very important that we take AT LEAST 2 of 3 here because after this we go on the road for a tough 4 game series against the first place Houston Astros

No doubt. Yes indeed, ending this 20 game stretch (no off days until July2) with 7 games on the road - no time for them to catch their breath...
Significant portion of the schedule as we head towards July.
Houston tough team esp at home.....Angels not easy.

Dangerous for Yanks as they can "easily" lose 5/7 at Houston-Angels.

That Philadelphia Team is in really bad shape, Sandberg will probably join others on the to be fired list. Amaro has not been the best GM either, (sound familiar). Yep if the Yankees fail to clean their plows it will not be happy time in the Bronx. Go Yankees kick their asses.

What the hell is going on with this CF situation?
Turning into a black hole.....Ellsbury is down and there really doesn't seem to be a clear end in sight and the next two YOUNGSTERS (Heathcottt, Williams) get called up and go down one at a time!

Jeez,... Heathcottt was put on the 15 day DL effective May 28, what's up with him?
Has he fallen off the earth? Too bad for the Yanks and him....I think when healthy, he's "ready" to step in and be a good ML player. He has alot of baseball talent - imo.

Goshdarnit, it seems like whenever these guys get an injury which isn't a bump or a bruise they go MIA for a couple of months.

Tonight's lineup posted in the OP. No Teixeira tonight.

They seem to get a lot of guys thrown out at home.

I've got a feeling that the Yankees are going to need at least 5 runs tonight because from what I'm seeing so far Pineda doesn't look like he has good stuff tonight.

Pineda is pitching like absolute crap. Almost 60 pitches in the third inning.

Come on Pineda. Hangs a change up to Howard on a 1-2 pitch. 4-2 now but I'll take it since that could've been an even worse disaster.

Let me beat Pasta to the punch, Joe, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU WAITING FOR????

I could tell in the 3rd inning that Pineda wasn't on. Its 6 runs, how many more are you going to let him give up?

Holy shit Girardi are you sure 8 runs are enough?
