With Afflalo opting out, that means Portland potentially got nothing for their 2016 1st round Draft pick except cap space. Two 2nd rounders spend on T-Rob also are part of that deal and two 2nd rounders were spend on Allan Crabbe as well who has so far done nothing.

So Portland has no 1st pick next year and from 2014-2018 have no 2nd round picks....so far, they have got nothing out of those. Am I missing any other picks that got traded?

One could fairly easily question NeO's use of those assets so far. Makes me a little leary of what he might do with #23 this year.

Neil better make this draft count.

Fwiw, the 2016 draft is being compared to the 2000 draft. Yikes.

But Lillard and the development of CJ and Meyers makes me not worry as much.

Imagine a team with those three as starters. Look at the imaginary scoreboard: the opposing team has scored 150!

Wait, now I'm imagining Porzingis in there with them... now the scoreboard says 170 for the opposing team! And we're only in the third quarter!!!

As long as we have 171 points I'm not worried.

Draft picks are not the only thing missing around here.

The title of this forum section is, “Normal Posts”.
“Normal Posts”, I have not read one yet.
However, “Normal Posts” is an awfully good oxymoron.

Who was drafted then? Is '16 going to be a good or bad draft? Based on your "yikes", I'm guessing that we got royally screwed by giving up the draft pick.
Man, I should have read this thread before commenting on the Olshey thread...my opinion is slipping.

Phew. I feel a bit better now. But I'd still really like to have that 1st rounder back...

Going by the playoff 4-man lineups, CJ, Lillard, and Meyers outscore their opponent by 22 points per 100 possessions...

We have the Bird rights and could sign and trade AAA. His cap hold is over 11 million so there's cap relief as well. That's something. We could still sign him to a longer contract which is what he's looking for.

Meh... We have New York's second rounder next draft. There will be a ton of draft and stash guys around there like Kaba, Fuzaro, Vezenkov, Luwawu, etc. After that there are good upper classmen like Gary Payton II.

I miss the days when Paul would buy an extra pick every year. He sold a painting a couple years ago that would pay for extra pick for the next couple decades.

I think we will buy one of Philly's picks. Just a gut feeling. Take a flyer on Upshaw.

You can only use $3million per year in total trades now. so if we bought a pick for $3 million, we couldnt add cash to any deals for a full year

In 2018, we have a #2, but it may be the Kings' #2 if they want it to be. To cement his legacy, Olshey better get a lot for that #2!
