If Meyers and CJ become the players they looked like in the second half of the season, NO is basically the Adam Dunn of GMs...home run or strikeout. To stretch the metaphor, the Afflalo trade feels like a deep drive that Mike Trout snagged just as it was about to go over the wall.
I see no problem with the trading of the our first for Affalo, don't' think it was a bad trade still think it was a great trade but no one could have guessed Wes would have gone down then Affalo would barely play before being injured and still being injured when he chose to come back and compete in the playoffs, and second round picks are being treated like royalty around here. Yea you can get steals in the 2nd but on avg what 2 of those 30 players even make it longer then 5 years in the NBA? Even with Trob not working out and Crabbe being a no show I think Neal used the assets he had to take low risk high reward deals and the only one that has paid off is Lopez but that one paid off damn well.
