So glad I have him on ignore. When posters just make up lies to support posts, it's over. Added Chuck who hasn't posted a fact that makes sense in over a year. That's why he's laughed at on the OTG board.

C'mon Dump, you know you can't backtrack just because they didn't end up winning either year. And St.Louis had an excellent playoff last year and Yandle this year considering the injury he had. Hayes replaced the St.Louis pick and losing the 29th pick this year isn't a huge deal when they may turn Talbot into 33. The team is in the middle of a window that precludes making a deal each year to go for it. You know all this deep down i'm sure it's just frustration.

Again, people, learn to read. This has nothing to due with back tracking. It has to do with looking at the end results. In the end, unless you are a complete moron, the deals were a total failure. They didn't win the cup. Fact. Sather gave up way more than other GM's for relics and rental players in trades. Fact. The farm is very weak now. Fact. Those are the facts. So whether you liked the deals or not when they were made, the end result is that those deals now sucked. They didn't work.

I guess there is no 2016 huh? I didn't read about it, but it kind of sucks that the NHL and the Rangers are folding after this past season. That is awful. I thought they could have won it in 2016 with the main core intact, but since you said it's a failure because they didn't win the cup in 2015, I guess that means there will be no 2016 or beyond. That's terrible.

Dreger on TSN: The Rangers were offered two second-round picks for Talbot. Rangers declined. Team offering was NOT Edmonton, which continues to have the most interest. Not clear if both of these seconds were for this year.

Good by Glen here so far. For all we know it could have been a second this year and a conditional second next year based on if he resigns. Wait out EDM, Chairelli will overpay.

That would be Buffalo IMO. I said on another board that it would take two 2nd's and Grigorenko for Sather to do a Buffalo deal. They have three second round picks I believe. I was down on Grigorenko earlier this season but he rebounded. He showed a lot of promise later. I also think he can be a 40 point center who is good on draws. He's a big muther also. I always felt he was overrated as a prospect and Duclair was the star of that team. However, I take Grigorenko for what he is. A future 3rd line center who is 51%+ on draws. He won't go back to Russia if he plays here. Russians love playing in NY. He's als0 totally blocked at center on Buffalo. He won 46% of his draws last year. I figure by 24 he should be winning over 50%. Move Hayes to wing or Stepan who both suck on faceoffs.

if they can get Grigorenko (top 3 prospect on a deep prospect pool for Buffalo) and 2 #2's for Talbot and his 1 year left until he is a UFA take it and run.

Oh man Grigs would be sweet.

We need to be doing something for the now as well, not just picks. Grigs can make this team as 3C and Hayes goes to wing. That would be very solid. His hit is so low you might be able to bring everyone else back as well.

EDIT: whoops, looking at his hit from last year. He's an RFA right now, and a quick google search tells me Buffalo is having trouble signing him. Tread carefully here.

    From a Buffalo newspaper article:

They want to sign RFA Mikhail Grigorenko to a two-way deal, but Girgorenko’s camp wants a one-way deal. The KHL is a possibility.
“Their expectations of a contract are a little different than ours,” [Buffalo GM ] Murray said. “They feel he’s NHL ready. We feel he needs time in the minors, whether it’s 10 games, half a year. That depends on what kind of summer he has...I don’t know why they’d be afraid of a two-way contract. I’m baffled actually,” Murray said. “If we think he needs more time and we have to put him on waivers but he is what he thinks he is, he’s in the NHL in my opinion. He’s just not in Buffalo.”

Sounds like he's available for sure.

Yep. I've been paying attention to that scenario. I think Bufalo can make it two 2nd's and Grigorenko and not effect their rebuild. I would trade Talbot for that.

Another Talbot note: Dreger is saying we won't hear anything until tom. Friedman says NYR want this done today. So it will be interesting

Getting closer to seeing what talbot or talbot plus brings back here
