...anyone ever recall this many exceptional rookies come along in one year? http://www.baseballamerica.com/majors/top-20-rookies-position-prospects-pace-class-2015/ ...you can add Buxton to this list as well....I've seen enough of him to know he's the real deal. Also Correa, Franco, Gallo, and Pederson.
I once heard Jeter state that when he came up with the Yankees if you did not do your job they would get rid of you. The Yankees need to reinstate that policy.
06.22... Yankees pitching prospect Luis Severino scattered four hits over 7 2/3 shutout innings Sunday in a win for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Spin: He's won his last three starts. The right-hander is quickly outgrowing Triple-A. Severino is undefeated in five starts since his promotion last month, holding opponents to a .200 average over that span. The 21-year-old hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start since May 10 against New Hampshire. Can they really not bring up this kid right after the allstar break. HE IS READY. Kid should move right into rotation with tanaka, nova, pineda and if girardi had some balls warren.
And yet sadly mel considering how this team does things, this kid may end up getting his first start with another team.
I don't want hamels as he would also take judge with severino and god knows what else. Not to mention another ungodly contract.
Next year hal either needs to trade beltran or write beltran a check so judge is our everyday right fielder and start the next young core along with severino. And by the way with all the college kids we just drafted and signed nobody is able to go to trenton and all assigned to staten island by the yanks. Why our prospects take forever to get here
If Cashman continues trading prospects for overpaid veterans, Yankee fans need to stay away from the Bronx. Can you see Cashman on the phones urging corporate people and tourists to fill those seats behind home plate?LOL Too sad.LOL
Maybe when Beltran, Tex and Drew are gone. Yanks have promoted a few youngsters. I do tend to lean towards putting young players on the fast track and it's been no secret that "nowadays" there does seem to be more and more 22-24 year olds breaking in with their ML clubs. 22-24 years old is the new 25-26 year old for rooks and kids who are "ready" and the Yanks have been behind the curve in recent years but I think they've caught up reasonably fast. We should see a couple next year with Tex, Drew and Beltran on his last legs and last contract year.....The Yanks are still lacking in bringing along top flight poised young SP, especially LH SP. Heathcottt, Williams, Judge, Refsnyder and next year Jagielo, Cave -imo- and maybe Bird (he isn't exactly lighting up AA) are ready to step in and hold their own as they grow at the ML level...but two of them seem to be fragile- Heathcottt and Williams. If the Yanks were bringing along GOOD YOUNG SP they would be in great shape. Lol, I know it's only a dream but - if the Yanks had Harvey and/or deGrom in the rotation, they would probably be in 1st by 5 or 6 games with the way this Yankee team has been scoring for most of the season. Just a dream. Felt good for a moment.
...^^^among others, I think they're gonna really regret the Headley contract to before it's over...and they still have another year of Beltran too.
That headily contract is a real head shaker as the kid jaggielo (I know i butchered it) should be ready next year or year after. Yep, I'm sure they were terrified they couldn't replace headway's offense and defense. ROTFLMAO
