I think Nic makes 12.8 mil next season, do not resign Afflalo.

I think we are going after Hibbert for 13 mil per

That was my first thought too. Hibbert's hates it in Indiana and wants out. He is no longer a max player. He could platoon with Leonard depending on the match up.

Monta Ellis opted out. You want a SG?

He hasn't done either yet. I would much rather trade for him. I don't see how we can though

Why would you rather give up assets for him instead of getting him for free?

Well Mags maybe Vonleh he goes to Indy (where he played in college) in a Hibbert trade if Hibbert opts in, or if he opts out and we do a sign and trade with the Pacers? and use our capspace and they get some cap relief

I'm hoping the assets are what we just acquired and maybe our pick. That way we can resign the team

That's what I'm hoping for. Pacers don't need Batum because they have a stud SF already. Just grab who we need from the player we are willing to part with

I don't think we'll go over the cap by resigning guys via bird rights. We'd have no starting or backup SF.

Joakim Noah is likely available. Bulls are looking to dump salary. Rumors are Taj or Noah.

I think DJ is the target, just makes a lot of sense especially when you consider the history between Neil and DeAndre.

Noah's rumored to have B-Roy knees. But they'd have interest in Henderson+Kaman

Which can't be too much. I want to get Hibbert, but as with most centers these days he is a only a situational type player.
There are teams he will help us against (i.e Howard who kills us) but others he won't play much. (i.e GS) So we need a player like him, but he is only good for half the game.

Here's an updated look at the Blazers CAP -

    Signed:
Gerald Henderson, $6,000,000 (Yes, he is now the Blazers top paid player!)
Chris Kaman, $5,016,000 (Team Option, $1M Guaranteed)
    Damian Lillard, $4,236,287
    Meyers Leonard, $3,075,880
    Noah Vonleh, $2,637,720
    CJ McCollum, $2,525,160
    Steve Blake, $2,170,464 (Opted In)
Draft Choice (#23) CAP Hold, $1,112,900 (Can't trade out due to rule not allowing trading 1st rounders 2 years in a row.)

The Blazers have $22,856,082 in committed salary. Adding in the minimum 12-man roster CAP holds ($525,093 each), puts the total at $25,481,547. That gives the Blazers $41,618,453 of CAP space.

To get that cap space, they would have to renounce the rights to:
    LaMarcus Aldridge, $20,130,000 (CAP Hold)
    Aaron Afflalo, $11,625,000 (CAP Hold)
    Wesley Matthews, $10,868,460 (CAP Hold)
    Robin Lopez, $9,187,092 (CAP Hold)
Mid Level Exception CAP Hold, $5,464,000
    Dorell Wright $4,075,500 (CAP Hold)
    Joel Freeland, $3,766,890 (Qualifying Offer)
Allen Crab $947,276 (CAP Hold. Team Option)
    Alonzo Gee, $947,276 (CAP Hold)
Tim Frazier, $845,069 (CAP Hold. Team Option)
Chris Kaman, $5,016,000 (Team Option, $1M Guaranteed)

    The Max contracts are:
0-6 yr NBA vet, $16,775,000 (Like Greg Monroe)
7-9 yr NBA vet, $20,130,000 (Like LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love, or Roy Hibbert)
10+ yr NBA vet, $23,485,000 (Like Tim Duncan)

I'm not a CAP Guru, so if you see any information that looks inaccurate, let me know. Most of my information came from Basketballinsiders.com and CBAFaq.com.

It's going to be a fun free agent period!
