Someone in Mavs management told --> the cheerleader, who must know him quite well (!) and she --> told her brother who knows --> a friend of --> OSUBlazerfan, who has 5000 posts so is trusted by --> me.

What is the weakest link in that chain? Could the story have been embellished at every step?

I dunno, that sounds like the type of podunk shit one of Allen's flunkies would pull not thinking it mattered.

People all seem to agree Roy drove Z-Bo out of town, but I remain 100% sure it was LMA who did. He hated Z-Bo; you could see it during his rookie year. When Z-Bo got traded, it was obvious to me who pulled the strings.

So yeah, I think if Nic was the problem, LA would pull the strings to get him gone.

Well, it is Cuban... He probably has those glasses from the Kingsman that make it look like a board meeting while no one is technically 'with' you.

Really don't think Aldridge had that much pull at the time. Don't think the franchise even thought too highly of him until oden and Roy both shit the can.

    I think we're witnessing a first-hand example of a Marc Stein "source"

LA was drafted higher than Roy, bigs always get more love than guards even if the guard is a team leader. It's a possibility.

    :)

I always wondered who would win in fist fight between Allen and Cuban. If tampering is involved,I hope Mr. Allen makes the man pay. Big

I think he had more pull his rookie year than in subsequent years; we drafted him at #2 and Roy at #6 for a reason.

Cuban wins in a hand to hand fight because he is younger and I think he does Jiu-Jitsu and other MA. Now Allen could probably hire Jon Jones to kick Cuban's ass.

This whole saga has been kind of a mess. Honestly, you can count me in the group that doesn't really care one way or another what Aldridge does. If he stays great, I like the guy and it would be nice for sentimental reasons to see him finish out his career as a Blazers. However, I honest to god cannot see the Blazers as a championship team with Aldridge as the first option jacking up 20 shots a night. Hes just not a transcendent type of player. If he leaves I'll be sad that we got nothing out of it, and sad for losing a player that I've watched grow since he's come into the league. But whatever they decide to do next, whether it's pursue another big free agent or rebuild completely, I'll rest easy knowing that there's probably the same chance the Blazers win a title in the next few years regardless of his decision. That percentage might be better 3-4 years from now if they decide to take the latter route.

At the end of the season though? Roy was the ROY and LMA was just the project that showed flashes.

Honestly if he leaves we will be a contender again in a 2-3 year time span probably. Solid building blocks and cap space go a long way.
