Just another sociopathic mercenary. He could have done right by the team just by telling the truth about his intentions...but he couldn't be bothered since there was nothing in it for him. Damn right I'm bitter!
Actually, it'll be more like "can you imagine how many LA fans will be BEAT at the Moda Center"? It seriously won't be safe for them to go there.
Hell, I'd go back to the Staples Center just to scuffle with Laker fans again. Fuck them. Fucking pussy ass pussies.
People always get so hung up on this. They wanted to believe he was returning and they put more stock in this than they should have. Players and coaches say this kind of stuff all the time. Look at the actions over the words and look at the circumstances and the motivators. LA has a lot of reasons to stay here. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that there are few motivators that we know about for certain that would make it seem in his interest to leave. But that doesn't mean they don't exist. It can be a desire to return home or maybe he just doesn't like Portland or maybe he wants to be a big fish in an organization that gets more press. Maybe he just got rubbed the wrong way by the Blazers for some reason. I'd love to know why he'd be so set on leaving Portland, if that is indeed the case.
I'm not so sure about that. Of the other 50%, I wonder how many stay together for the kids, for financial reasons, or the preference of cold comfort over change vs. how many are really and truly happy. If Aldridge does leave, it will be for emotional reasons, not practical ones. He gets more money if he stays in Portland, but how much money does one person really need? The lure of being closer to home/family, a better chance at playing for a championship, or simply being in a happier situation may be worth more to him than the extra money. BNM
"Maybe he just doesn't like Portland"...........My bet is this, and he is smart enough never to say it. I don't think players hate living in Portland, I just don't think they all really enjoy it. I believe he once said that Portland......."was fine"
Happiness is self-created, not externally provided. Some people realize this, and some people get divorced.
If LaMarcus' mental makeup is that he is leaving for the emotional reasons postulated, I doubt he'll ever be happy. But he isn't gone yet, and I've yet to see any actual evidence that any of today's rumors are true. Not. Panicked.
I'm an example of one that's happy. If LA leaves divorce style, he's losing money divorce style as well. He may not factor that in and just want a change but I don't see any advantage in him giving up now after only 9 years and a chance to be the greatest Blazer ever
Aldridge wants to win a championship...the Blazers declared this was Lillard's team....now it will be. Aldridge has little chance of winning a championship here....I hope if he does leave its to go home. If he goes to the Lakers that will be the biggest kick in the balls....I think the trade of Batum is the last straw for him...I am not defending him...he disrespected the fans, the team, and the sport by lying...he should have told us he wanted out....maybe we can sign and trade him...As a Blazer fan I am feeling betrayed right now....he hasn't left yet, but if he does the Blazers need to work quick to create some kind of relevant team for next year...don't know if I can handle another five years of lottery...feels like this is gonna knock the Blazers back to the stone age...is it that bad? Just want a championship....Warriors go there's...come on!
