Drew Stafford....made 4 million off a 4 year deal originally with Buffalo. Has some size and is a right handed shot. Once scored 11 ppg with Buffalo.
They have to dump salary though Al in order to go after any UFA. Stafford on paper is not impressive but he always seems to score on Hank. He seems to play well at the garden. Though about him and Chiasson. First thing they have to do is wait for the Talbot deal to go down and I don't think it will be long. I think Sather wants that done. I pray he makes the team getting him get Glass. He should since Talbot is dirt cheap. However, Sather makes deals you never see coming. I didn't see the Yandle one coming. I wouldn't be surprised if Sather pulled off a Nash for O'Reilly deal. Then moved Hayes to wing. That's the kind of stuff he does.
Curious to see what Justin Williams will command. I know he's 33 but his playoff track record is what this team needs. He has 3 cups, a Conn Smythe and scores huge playoff goals.
I'd love what Williams would bring, but it's not just his age and price that worry me. He doesnt strike me as the kind of guy who would have the amount of success in AV's system to justify the price tag. Not a great skater or passer. Yes we want goals and he can score them, but not sure he'd score enough in this system to justify say 4 years 4 mil.
Maybe they go after someone like Tlusty or Fleischmann in the 3m. Both solid players who can give upwards of 15g.
Stewart is interesting, Williams is interesting, Belesky is interesting, Soderberg....those guys will all get contracts more than what they're worth. One thing we know is the team will be adding a backup goalie and a forward... Thinking the backup goalie will be Lindback.. Enroth maybe, but he'll probably want to sign in a place where he has a chance to start
eh, not a big fan of Ward.... IDK was just going to post. Any interest in Paille.. I know he is a bottom 6 guy but if they ship out Glass a Paille/Moore/Lidberg line can be good
Where did you see that he was considering us? Im encouraged that we were at least targeting him, shows me that the front office isnt asleep at the wheel and sees that a guy like him is necessary.
